Business Building, SEO Stress, Youtube Channels- Oh my!

August 18th, 2020-
Hard to believe that it is already this late into the year.
At the very same time, it is exhausting to think that we are only this far through 2020.
Maybe that is just me.

This year has seen incredible changes for me- as for all of us- but this year was also (is also?) a year of personal growth, reflection, rediscovery, and starting a business.
I went from having a lifetime career job (an academic teacher)- to having to resign because of corruption.
I spent the month of February in hell- only to come out stronger for it, both personally and in regards to my relationship with my partner, Jim. We have been through a lot together, this year alone!
March found me without a job, without a way to make money in my (at that time, dead) touristy town, and unable to collect unemployment benefits because of my "voluntary quit" (something I am still fighting).
April I turned 30- I was supposed to be in Maimi for Pride having some of the last "adult fun" I planned on having in my life. Instead I "partied" with my parents and partner in our snowy driveway. April Fools! ... no, it wasn't actually a joke. My birthday is on April 1st. It rears its Ironic Head every few years. This year the April Fools seemed to be on the entire planet, and not just me this time. Ha?
After my birthday passed and Mandatory Stay in Place was set down- I knew I had to do something for myself. I cannot and will not work for another over-expecting and under-appreciating boss again. I will be my own boss. I will expect a lot of myself- but I will also appreciate my hard work (and that of my team as well!) and always make sure the effort is worth the time.
April, June, July, and into the beginning of August I have been studying, researching, seeking, asking, posting, commenting, participating, listening, and synthesizing all the information that I have gathered.
I do not know if I will ever be ready-
but I am ready to take the plunge! I could keep reading and studying for the next three years- I do not know that I would even get bored. But I would be sorely lacking money. Knowing that I could keep studying till my coffin is sealed, with my personal funds drying up- it's now or never.
In late March I took my first "plunge." I cannot say that it was 'pre-mature' because I learned so much from it- but it surely didn't have the growth in the time that I had mentally calculated it would. Even starting a simple blog is so difficult these days! Again, maybe that is just me- I have always considered myself a technophobe- but that is another large change for 2020. This one is for the best!
After March I took time to learn from my fall- and let me tell you- I learned.
From a simple business idea, to the marketing plan, business plan, growing my business webinars- I have been studying anything and everything I can get my hands on regarding creating and sustaining a small business, but a successful business nonetheless.
I do not know if I am ready still- but I won't know till I try-
It's intimidating, a little sickening, and very vulnerable to post videos of yourself on social media at all, let alone a platform like YouTube (especially with Youtube Premium these days- it has basically replaced television!). I am drawn to upload videos because as I tried to find videos on the daily grind of starting a business online (or brick and mortar for that matter)- many of the top results skipped a few (or many) steps.
It is my desire to change that
From the good, that bad, the ugly, trials, tribulations, and triumphs, I want to take viewers along with me to watch as I do it so that they might be inspired to do it as well. It is easier (with a lot of hard effing work) to do than we have always believed. Follow Along today to watch it change for all of us!
Wealthy Affiliate has been a huge resource and source of encouragement
I have come across a lot of webinars, influencers, motivational speakers, well-meaning "millionaires", and many other promising sites. Wealthy Affiliate has blown them all away. I have loved every minute of my time logged in here at WA and I am really looking forward to growing more and getting to know more individuals within the WA Community!

Thanks Florentino, I really appreciate the feedback. I spent a little bit of time working on this blog- but not too much. I am trying to time myself to try and get faster at SEO. I sometimes get a little too OCD over perfection- I got that from my father, xD I am working on it though!
