I just registered a new domain on Godaddy. I tried to bring it over to WA for hosting but they are asking for a verification code

"Transferring" a domain is a very specific thing, so I'm not sure if that's exactly what you're trying to do. Let me explain.

1. If you bought a domain at a registrar outside WA, it's not required that you transfer the domain here for it to work. In fact, if you just bought it recently, there's likely a 60 day hold when you cannot transfer if. If this is the case, you need to "change the DNS" of your domain to get your website working properly: Sounds like @TheAbiePPlus has a specific training for the updated Godaddy DNS stuff, so that's the link I'd go to to get that done since you bought your domain at Godaddy.

Howdy! You have terrific responses here.

It needs to have passed the grace period of 60 days before you can transfer it. However, you can point it to WA servers in this case scenario.

Is it possible to move my wordpres blog over to WA in its present form? I mean I wouldn't have to change the design or format?

Yes, you can. Contact SiteSupport and they can do most of the process for you: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

If the site was created with wordpress then yes.
If it was created with wordpress then best to download a copy first before you do anything else.
This way you will always have a copy.
Robert

I believe so, I have never done this before, but if you go to Websites on your left. Then go in to domains, you will see Transfer a Domain at the bottom. I think this is how you do it. I didn't take time to read about it, but have a look. If you are not sure, check with SiteSupport or wait till a more experienced member answers the question for you.

I have two existing Wordpress Blogs that I would like to transfer to my WA account. How do I do that?

backup and import once dns resolves

WA will transfer one for free if you contact support.

How big are the sites? If they are small, I would just transfer the other one yourself.

Step 1: Backup .xml file
Step 2: Change DNS at your registrar to point to WA's servers
Step 3: Build a "dummy site" (blank Wordpress install) with the domain name you want to host at WA
Step 4: Upload .xml file to your site
Step 5: Re-Upload your theme, plugins, and maybe recreate menus*

Note: There's a way to not need to re-upload that stuff but you have to dig into FTP and it changes the process a little. The way I listed is the simplest way, but it's not perfect.

Thanks Nathaniell

I have the same questions. Mine is on hostgator.com

Where are they hosted now?

Sorry for the delay, they are hosted on Bluehost
