Being a Tortoise

Well, I've reached that Course 2, Lesson 10 milestone where one of our tasks is to write our first blog to tell about our journey so far. Although I joined six months ago, and would like to have been further along in the training, "life" just kinda interrupts our well laid plans sometimes, as many of you here know! However, I'm reminded of one of Aesop's fables about the tortoise and the hare. Although the tortoise went at a slow pace, with zeal and determination he/she still finished the race! That has pretty much been how my life has always been. I'm one of those people who is slow, but steady. And, I do believe that here at WA, that can be a good trait to have, especially for those of us who may be caregivers or have a lot of other items on our plates. I just do a little bit at a time, but am encouraged to see the progress I have made so far. Even though there is much more to be added, like more graphics, links to affiliate products, and more content, here's the website I've created thus far: www.toxinfreeandhealthy.com

My goals: I would really like to have the website pretty much completed with links, graphics, etc. within the next three months, and then see some income within six months ($100 per month would even be exciting because that would tell me I then just need to keep doing what I am doing and that I'm on the right track). I would even like to eventually create a couple more websites after following along with Jay's four part series on getting a site up and running and making money.

So, if you are a slower mover and shaker like me, just remember that tortoise and know that you just need to keep plugging away, even if only a few inches at a time, and you'll eventually reach your goal.

Best wishes to all!

Amen to that Diana, perseverance will do it. Wish you the very best.

Hi Berns, So glad you stopped by. I am also a Florida transplant. Been here now 11 years this month and love it and have never regretted the decision to move here. I came from the cold, blistery north where waiting 30 minutes for a bus in 5 degree weather was nothing. The Florida heat and humidity took a little getting used to (but at least it never goes above 94), but I look at our really hot months (July-Oct.) like Dec-March up north when you stay inside a little more. I live in Seminole which is slightly north of St. Petersburg, and a little south of Clearwater/Largo. Where did you settle in, somewhere around Ft. Myers maybe?? Anyway, welcome to Florida and good luck here at WA!! Diana

I know what you talk about with the humidity had the experience this time, my first time. I am in Port Charlotte.

Great job!
