A Big Loose in Puerto Rico for the Interrnational Science
Many of you have heard about the Arecibo Observatory, with the best astronomical, space and physical investigations around the world.
The radiotelescope was the third in size behind China and Chile, but number one worldwide in the diffferent kind of investigations that no other telescope can perform.
Began its construction in 1960 and inaugurated in November of 1963, was operarted initially by the National Science Foundation. Later Cornell University joined to its operations and experiments on space explorations and physical experiments.
Arecibo Observatory before collapsed
Later its operations were transferred to AGMUS (actually UAGM - University Ana G. Mendez), together with NASA and University of Central Florida. Operations toward space inventigations continued, until yesterday, December 1, 2020 when the whole structure collapsed at 6:50 am (ET);
Some of the measurent characteristics: 1,000 wide, suspension 500 feet on its three towers with a weight 900 tons dish.
The NSF wants to decommise the structue that was working for 57 years. But scientists, students, other personnel that worked there, and most Puerto Ricans want to have it back into operations in the same original area of the first one,

As a Puertorrican, it hurts me to see this kind of negligence from our Government. The Arecibo Observatory is worldly known and to see this happens, it really infuriates me. The same thing happened to the Palo Seco Electrical facility. When is this government is going to take responsibility?
