Merry christmas and a happy and healthy new year to all
This poinsettia is the second oldest I have growing in the garden. It is around 25 years old. The oldest one, 3 times the size, is from 1983.
I have not been active on WA for a long time. Focussing on selling the house and moving to Portugal. Well, it was not to be, so we are staying in the south of Spain.
Wishing you all happy days.

You know I was banned on FB for quite a few months, but now I am back there being my naughty old self.

Good morning Taetske,
It's good to hear from you. I didn't know if you were still on the platform, but it looks like you are!
Sometimes I think you're better off to stay in the place that you know. Sunny Spain sounds nice!
A very happy Christmas to you.
Roy
Good Morning Roy,
Yes, I am still here, but not active. I was focussing on other things, as you know.
I was active on FB till they censored/banned me in the summer. As the idea about health and many related things have changed considerably these last months, I am back on FB and posting again.
I have been in my Finca since 1981 and over the years build it up. Now I have a big house and half of it is 200 years old.
Grateful to have my own water as in the past, present, and certainly in the future the lack of water presents Spain's biggest problem.

Good afternoon Taetske,
I'm really pleased that you are still on the platform, Taetske, I think for anyone building an online business, it's so good to be a will to be around like-minded people and have a good variety of training available.
I must admit, Taetske, I do avoid Facebook as I think it's an absolutely awful platform. It's not a nice platform to view content, it's very clunky and you have to keep clicking to find the right replies or all the replies to comments, etc.
However, about a year ago, I went to one of my Facebook accounts and discovered that I could no longer access it. I hardly use the main Facebook account or personal account, I just used it for a few business pages that I had. The problem is now that the pages are still live, but I can't access them, as they have shut my personal account down. I have reached out to them several times, but of course, no answer!
Many years ago before social media was as popular as it is today, my Webmaster told me to focus on your website, as you never know when these people shut you down! This is so true!
Vitaliy appears to be having great success with his Facebook page and he is documenting his journey, which is great. However, I don't mean to be negative, but he did lose that page overnight and there would be nothing he could do about it. So if you can, I would try and focus on your website and maybe use other social media platforms.
I had to look up the word "Finca", as I didn't know the meaning. That sounds like a nice place, Taetske, well done for building it up.
I've often wondered where countries like Spain get their water from, as I'm sure it can be a major problem. I know in Greece they have a lot of mountains, so a lot of the water comes from their. Most of the time in the UK, we are not short of water by a long way!
Enjoy your Christmas.
Roy
Thank you for your long reply, Roy.
FB can be a pain, and they did not answer my 3 messages either.
The last time I focussed on my websites was when WA got AI on board. It wrote some articles for me, but what a hassle. It was completely opposite to what I believe, so I had to turn most of it around to reflect my opinions.
These last couple of years I did not feel like writing at all. Politics does not keep me awake at night, as they say in Holland, I sleep like a rose, but the world situation could very well affect us negatively.
Spain has a lot of mountains, but the south is drying out and many inland cities/villages had serious water restrictions. Also, where I live in Alhaurin de la Torre, close to Malaga, from March on only 150 liters per person, no garden, swimming-pool, washing cars, etc. Having own water it did not affect us and just as well as I could keep my oranges/garden alive.
We were very much looking forward to moving to Portugal, had a serious buyer, to then discover there is a legal issue which makes the sale impossible.
In some years we might understand why it was better to stay here, but for the moment it was a huge disappointment. Anyhow, we are both "happy" and healthy, which is the main thing.
Taetske
It's a pleasure, Taetske!
I agree with you, even if Facebook worked properly, I don't like the clunkiness and clumsiness of the platform. I had a conversation with Kyle recently and he said it's hard to believe that such a large platform has all those flaws or words that affect.
Do you know, Taetske; I'm glad that you can see that your AI articles did not line up with what you believe, I can really believe that! I guess it's like anything, AI can be used for good things and as an assistant to help us, but there are some things it can't do.
I have always had my reservations about AI, as I feel we have to be very careful how we use it, as it can bring inaccurate information. I see far too many members on the platform using AI to write content, which is absolutely appalling. Now this isn't to say that you can't use AI to help give you ideas, and brainstorm, etc. However, I knew that people would take the lazy route and not really change the content that AI is writing.
Some members are even using AI to write their about me page, I'm afraid that is just ludicrous. Our about me page is very personal and only we can really write about ourselves.
I have mentioned to several members that they need to change that AI content and they assure me that they are making it their own, but it's not; it's just awful! The only reason I tell them about their content, is because it's never going to rank properly in the search engines, so they will be wasting their time!
Regarding the world situation, I know where you are coming from. I'm a Christian, so I can see what's happening and what the plan is, I can't say too much on the platform, but my faith keeps me going. Sadly, we have many evil people in the world.
Here in the UK, we don't realise quite how important water is, although having been involved with agriculture and horticulture for many years, I do know the importance of water. Also, spending lots of time in Greece helps me to realise how much you need water. Here in the UK, I would travel for a few hours without thinking about getting a drink, but it is completely different in those Mediterranean countries.
It's great that you have your own water supply; that's worth a lot, especially as you never know what they are going to put in the water.
I'm sorry that your move to Portugal did not work out, but sometimes I think there may be a deeper reason for this. So I do hope that something good comes out of your remaining in Spain. And as you say, it's great that you both have your health.
Wishing you all the best and a great New Year.
Roy
Good afternoon Ray,
In the early 50th, my Father was director of a private water company in the Netherlands, providing water to 7 small cities. Then came the craze from America to add fluoride to the drinking water. Papa refused and said he would not force "medicate" his clients. If you want fluoride, you can buy toothpaste. There does not exist a fluoride deficiency, it has no place in your body. In the US they are starting to take it out of the drinking water, about time. We had our water tested, and it is thumbs up, without "strange" things, and an excellent taste.
When humans create new things, most of the time the long term pros and contras are not visible. I am afraid the day will come that we will be extremely sorry for having created AI.

Good morning Taetske,
Thank you for your reply, it's appreciated.
Your father sounds like a good man, Taetske! What I'm seeing now is people just being yes men rather than checking out to see if something is genuine or the right thing to do, etc. Saying yes is often an easy way out rather than being strong and making the right decisions.
I agree with you, Taetske! Exactly, if we want to put something into our body, we are better to do it ourselves rather than the government adding all sorts of poison to the water system.
This is probably not really a subject for the Wealthy Affiliate platform, but I didn't go with the Covid narrative or take the vaccine. I understand why many people did, because allegedly, they were trying to protect Granny, but we didn't. I know of far more people who have been ill through the vaccine than Covid! A friend of mine had the vaccine and three days later he was dead!
Anyway, on a brighter note, enjoy sunny Spain, I'm sure it's wonderful! I have three monitors on my desk, and one of them when I'm not using it, I have a webcam on, which is showing me Thessaloniki in Greece! I can see the sunshine and the boats coming in; it also reminds me of good times.
Here in the UK, the weather is exceptionally dreary, it's been almost zero sunshine for a month or more and lots of mist and drizzle!
Wishing you a wonderful day.
Roy
Good afternoon, Roy,
We neither took it! As we both have a private health insurance, nobody called us/wrote us to say it is about time, just as well. Once a week we go shopping in the village and at that time with a mask. On coming home, we would rip it off to then be able to breathe good air at the Finca. Perhaps you care to take a look at my thesilencedvoicesdotcom, it has a nice collection of hair-raising things.
On the 28th, we celebrated our 2 years wedding anniversary with a nice dinner and lovely view of the Bahia de Malaga by night.
This winter turns out to be rather mild up till now. On the patio had my 20 min of sunbathing, it is good for your mood besides stocking up on vitamin D. The bad side of a mild winter is that the mosquitos do not die, and therefor pester the oranges, well, nothing is perfect.
Tomorrow night we will have a fondue in front of the fire place, nice and cozy.
Wishing you and yours a good start of 2025.
All the best,
Taetske
Good morning Taetske,
A very happy New Year to you all; I hope that you had a good time.
That's good to hear, Taetske. I think that there are more people than the government admits who did not take the vaccine. I can't imagine wearing a mask in a Mediterranean country; that must have been very unpleasant. I avoided wearing a mask at all costs, it did bring confrontation with various people, though!
Your website sounds interesting, Taetske, I think we are on the same wavelength! I have had a quick look, but I'll have a deeper look. You may like one of my YouTube channels, which is called a countryman's view, it's on my profile page. It is actually a Christian channel, but it often talks about the things that go against the mainstream narrative.
I have to be careful what I put on YouTube, otherwise I can be banned or have the video removed. That's why I have also set up a Rumble channel with the same name. I noticed that one of your videos on one of your posts has been removed, due to violating Google's terms and conditions. That means that there must have been a lot of truth in that video.
I don't look at the mainstream news, as a waste of time, I do glance at it, but most of it's just propaganda. The majority of my news comes from Twitter, there's also a website called the UK Column News, which gives good information. I have a lot of people on Twitter who don't follow the mainstream narrative.
Happy wedding anniversary, I hope you had a great day.
How wonderful that you can sunbathe at this time of year, I think this is why I like Greece so much. They do have a winter, but it's nothing like here in the UK. That's not good about the mosquitoes; there is always a catch!
Wishing you all the best.
Roy
Good afternoon Roy,
I looked at some of your creations, very nice indeed.
Then I came upon your gardening website that has interesting things. I sent the link to Michael as the reviews on machines might interest him. Here on the farm there is a plot of 1000sqm with 100 orange trees, some lemons, mandarins, and grapefruit. A long time ago I had drip system installed. Michael battles the weeds with a weed wacker and then Miguel, my Spanish gardener (he was 18 when he started here in 1981) plows the field in 2 days.
Recently the plow broke down so now we are thinking of going no till, and that needs a chipper or shredder. Never a dull moment, I can tell you.
The Silenced Voices was created when the YouTube videos suddenly turned gray, censored and banned, just like me. I know I will have to check everything, but it is a bore.
I try to look left and right. Furthermore, I look at Spanish news at 15.00. As I have Astra satellite, I look at some more news at 20.00, before the evening film starts. Once a week, I look at the new episode of The HighWire, with Del Bigtree. I have been doing that now for quite some years. He and his team got it right straight from the beginning! At that time they were the only ones. I can recommend this source, and you get it sent to your inbox. I sometimes put it on FB as well.
This is funny. Before I put my post, no photo as you know, gave up after 3 times trying, then came Andre, and he got hold of that image, to me pure magic, I was well over 12k. Now, after having talked to quite a few people I am 118, dear me, I better stop.
Yes, we had a nice outing on the 28th. We went to the same place on the mountain from where you have this gorgeous view of Malaga by night. I took Michael there when he came to visit me Sept. 2015. I got a lovely ring, must have been a good wife these 2 years. As he is American and I am Dutch, although I am rather a cocktail of things, adapting to each other has had its ups and downs. He complains a little of all the honey does, but the result is he lost like 10kg as his lifestyle/food has changed positively.
Greetings from the south of Spain,
Taetske
Good morning Taetske,
My apologies for the late reply.
I'm glad that you found the website, etc, interesting. How wonderful that you have fruit trees and your own fruit. I don't eat that much fruit here in the UK, but when I go to Greece, it's a totally different story. The flavour is so much better and I'm sure it's the same in Spain. I think when you are growing crops, there are always things against you, like the weather, pests and machinery breakdowns, etc.
It's amazing how these social media platforms claim to like free speech, but they only like free speech if it goes with their narrative! I guess that's why I like Twitter. On my Google AdSense account, there is a message that comes up that says "if I do not agree with the Ukraine narrative, my earnings will be stopped," or words to that effect! Fortunately, on a gardening machinery website I will not be talking about Ukraine!
I'm very grateful that there are some good, genuine channels out there that promote the truth, it's always good to support these types of channels.
It doesn't take long to go up in the ranks on Wealthy Affiliate, especially when you are established on the platform.
I'm glad you are both happily married and enjoy the Spanish scenery and much more. I think we all have our ups and downs, but we have to remember the good times.
All the best to you.
Roy
Thank you for your answer, Roy.
I am sending you a message.
Hasta Pronto, Taetske
Thank you, Taetske, much appreciated.
My apologies, I'm a bit behind with messages and emails, etc.
All the best.
Roy
