Shop around, prices can really vary. Ask for examples and keep an open mind, but cull out the ones overprices and the ones that may be good, but do not appeal to your taste - like my daughter did with her tattoo artist. Picassos sell for a lot of money, but I would not pay 5 cents for one to hang in my home, I might buy it but only for profit. DaVinci, I would hang in my house!
Don't allow yourself to be overcharged in the process. Once you find one that you like, as someone from the WA family to review it for you - Just a word of advice...
Well following your advice I made a research and I found some really pretty themes for nice prices. I believe its a great and more economic solution
Thank you Graham. However dont you think that a unique design would be better? I thought of hiring someone from fiverr or elance. But I am not sure yet.
Honestly, The training here will show you how to do it all yourself and that would save you money in the long run. However I am guessing you probably have a time constraint right now that is preventing that.
Search for wordpress themes. You can buy a really nice one for around $100 that looks professional. I personally still use the free themes offered on WP, but if I had the money I'd buy a nice one.

It all comes down to personal preference and how much you want to spend on it, there are so many to choose from, success is not just about the appearance or your site it is also about the content and how it is set out wish you luck with it
