Blissfully Ignorant?
What am I doing here? Or should I say, “WHAT AM I DOING????”
What is happening and/or has happened to my brick and mortar businesses, where are my bookstores, and my video stores? I took my eyes off the ball for just a second and “POOF!” everything disappeared or became altered beyond my recognition. Am I lost in this “Brave New World”? Excuse me Mr. Huxley.
I grew up with typewriters and encyclopedias, the proper way to research and to write and to get business done. Right? No, I guess not, not in today’s world. Am I the Luddite that time has left behind, a last vestige of yesteryear? The answer is no and yet I can’t help but to feel lost in this Internet world of business.
I have a degree in Electronics, and have in the past worked in Communication and Technology, usually in the areas of circuit board repair and maintenance. I am not a total stranger to this world, yet I still feel lost. I love the Internet, but to me the Internet has always been a black box, a Pandora’s Box, that is fun to look at, but should never be opened. I guess joining WA is my way of exploring or opening the Black Box.
This is my first foray into this ever evolving world. I have so much to learn, the tasks seem daunting and endless and mysterious, yet on the other hand, they also appear to be a wondrous and breathtaking, a new area of exploration. Will I be disappointed, only time will tell if this writing is the musing of a blissfully ignorant person?
So what’s next? Step One: I must ask again, “What am I doing here?” Hopefully, the answer is going to be: Having lots and lots of fun in a new world worthy of exploration.
