My Year Here at WA
1st of February, I have been here a year, that is crazy... I have no idea where those months have gone. Time flies when you’re having fun.
I have planted lots of seeds and watched them grow into new healthy plants of prosperity
When I first came to WA I was definitely thrown into the jungle, I paid premium membership within my first week so it was time to learn and nurture, to propagate little roots and make them flourish.
After several months of floundering around I realised the community here is like a life belt and always ready to reach out with a helping hand. I started to gain some confidence in what I was trying to achieve and in asking questions and getting help from you fantastic group of people.
A Year Of Achievement
In this year I have struggled, fought with my self, cried, laughed and learnt with you all too :
- Built a profitable gardening website. The great thing for me about my gardening site is that it is evergreen (‘scuse the pun) and seasonal, blogs can be updated easily each month, my Garden Calendar is now 12 posts strong that I can revamp and share each valid month. The gardening business in the UK is worth billions of ££££, do I want to earn a share of that? Too right I do!
- Started a travel blog, a work in progress but already earning a few £££
- Built a gift subscription website, in its infancy and had to change each post because of my main affiliate changing their programme to Share A Sale
- Built a business website for a Driving Academy, already successfully driving clients. (again, pun intended)
- Top 200 badge ( for all of a couple of weeks) I’ll get the badge back again.
- Worked my physical gardening company into the best profit year ever, since starting it 10 years ago.
- I am still brain storming with my self, friends and acquaintances for a Niche idea to build a WA promotion website.
- I have tried to be more present here on WA in answering questions, comments and in the live chat.
What I Have Learnt In The Last Twelve Months

- Monetising websites through effective SEO, Keywords, Google Adsense and Affiliate Marketing etc.
- Writing High Ranking Content
- Time management (revisited from my old business and training days)
- How to Appreciate Myself
- How to breathe again

On a personal level I have:
- Liquidised property assets
- Got a divorce
- Bought a new house
- Packed up an old life and started anew
- Completed 2 courses on Mindfulness
So it’s safe to say I have been busy...I don’t let the grass grow under my feet but I do enjoy the time and wherewithal now to wander barefoot in the grass amongst the wildflowers.
Hard Work Pays Off
I shall continue learning and running my businesses, in those I now include my online ventures. It certainly is a full time endeavour.
You can’t just write a blog, you have to write great content and market it well. I am gaining a good social media presence, Facebook and Twitter specifically and working on Pinterest and Google My Business. All of which can eat away at the hours in a day.
I prioritise tasks each day at certain times and try to stick to my schedule as much as I can. I even set an alarm sometimes in order to keep to my work/play schedule.

Right now my schedule says lunch time, relax, breathe and recoup energy for another full afternoon of work. It’s a beautiful day, with some sunshine, so I am going to take my lunch outdoors into the garden.
Onwards and Upwards everyone, may you all have a great weekend ahead and a prosperous February 2020.
And remember, take time out for You, for your family and friends. You’re no good to anyone if you burn yourself out.
Best Wishes
Louise
