Is there a light at the end of this tunnel ?
I currently work in sales and reservations for uhaul. .. been doing this for 3 years.. a work-at-home position. I was hired in at $8.25 an hour and after 3 years ,got bumped up to $10 an hour. :) However, commission pays were $2.55 per reservation (no matter the $ amount of the sale). After the pay raise, commissions are reduced to $2.05 per reservation.. So, I have to work smarter, not harder and, I am looking to do something and/or find something that will generate any additional .. and much more needed income. Have you seen the price of food lately? I have two children to support my oldest will be 14 in August and my youngest will be 12 next month. I still believe God has a funny sense of humor. I've spent over a decade trying online to make money.... so I've read your stories and mine are pretty much ditto.
I tried all kinds of MLM's for over a decade, Let's put it this way, I was my best customer. ha ha ha ha!
If ever there was something I dreamed big upon .. it was something way back in 09 that I invented. I even had a friend put up a youtube video .. I didnt show my specific product because while I did the patent pending, had 10 companies try it out.. Even interest from Childrens Hospital at one point, I could not find anyone to re-produce the product ..It would be just my luck that I show the product demo and someone takes off with the idea. ..so I kept it low key, probably to my detriment ecause here I am now.. and I still cant donate to something like St. Jude and children's cancer research. I always said if I could get this thing going, I'd definitely send funds to help those poor little souls. Ever cry when you watch how they are suffering?
Anyway... back to my story
I was searching for someone to put a specific ingredient into the product and also into the production .. like an assembly line type thing. (before you ask, no, I wasnt reinventing the wheel, I was just improving upon a huge problem that to this day is still .. a problem) I contacted the 'supplier' and they wouldnt even help.. All they could do was sell the ingredient... something Antimicrobial/Antibacterial that actually worked!
.. oh boy , are we curious? .well, if you go to YouTube and type in Diapers Away Lee Christaldi-Smith somewhere on there you'll see a baby (not one of my babies,.. but hey .. a baby...I used to work for a printing company ..in sales.. no less) and I did a song /jingle for the product that I wrote and went back and did the harmonies..
I even had my two children in the recording. Anyway,I'd post the link but not sure that is allowed. I'm new here.
I Just never got the product up off the ground I couldn't find a manufacturer for the inside of the product. The casing (basically plastic) part of the product was the easy part. .. yep that Big Dream Idea ...was something I 'tried' also. :) I still think it would be a wonderful product for a huge array of places.. It's all about the People, the Places and the Things :...Thanks for reading!!

Well now, youve really grabbed my attention. If that wasnt enough, as I continued to follow your story, I thought, "this woman has been reading my mail".
You know what I mean I'm sure. You hear someones story and think, "i've been there", or worse, I'm still there...lol.
Lee, for some time I have been working on an an article that I know instinctively is going to be helpful to many people who find their zeal being jaded by the poor reception they get from all the wrong listeners.
I'm taking my time and have re-written the article about five times so far because its about working in the right place with the right people on the right projects.
Like yourself, I have to get the content clear and tidy or I will lose my oportunity to reach the right people.
The post will be all about getting "The Laws Of Probability" to work for us.
If I could use your product (invention) as a prime example?
There is no doubt in your mind, that what you want to produce is a valuable contribution to the community...and without knowing too much more about your product, it sounds like you cannot get past the ney-sayers and numbskulls. In your case it sounds like the very people who should be intensely interested...ARE NOT.
So what is my point.
You have not found the right place nor the right people to assist you in reaching the people you need to.
In fact, now that you have joined WA you may be for the first time in the "Sweet Spot".
This is definitely the place to get the laws of probability to work in your favour.
The working environment is right, the focus and skill sets are also right and the support, simply outstanding.
I don't think you will find anybody on this platform who will rubbish your ideas or good intentions. But encourage and asist you they will.
Now all we have to do is learn how to... reach the right people, more effectively, more often.
Will this improve our potential to succeed? More than likely and
MOST PROBABLY.
