What is Your Why? Do Not Be Afraid To Dream
What is your why? I asked myself a few days ago, what is it that I really want? What causes the fire in my soul, what gets me excited and makes me feel whole. After some serious soul searching and giving serious thought to what makes me tick. I realize that I am very shy, and yet outgoing and friendly by the same token. I know unless you know me, that makes only a small grain of sense. I am quite by nature but can also be the life of the party. I am Aquarius, the age of humanity and I love helping others. I have been told that my smile melts hearts. I continued to soul search and realized the things that I want out of and want to be a part of the remainder of my life. I know I am 56, so that means that my life is roughly half over, but not if I remember that 56 is the new 30, (as several people have told me). Also I plan to live to be well over 100, to many people set their sites to live to be a 100. I believe that then they die because they did not set their sites high enough.
I as others have others steal their dreams. I had to stop and explore why. Why did I let that happen? Did I not have enough belief in myself, enough belief in my dreams, or enough belief to think that I was worthy of my cause. I repeat I and I alone allowed others to steal my dreams. The reasons that I allowed them to steal remains not so as important as to not let them steal my dreams ever again. I as you should hold close and near your dreams, do not let anyone, family, friend or foe steal them from you. Protect them as you would your child, your spouse, your pet, or a friend that you hold dear and near. Shelter those dreams, do not neglect them, nurture and feed them, do not let anyone abuse or mistreat.
Examine your thoughts, your feelings, what important to you, what counts. What do you want for the rest of your life, what do you want to be remembered for. What will be a difference if you lived at all? These are some of the questions, I was asking myself as I examined my why and my dreams. Then write them down and put them where you can see them every day. Ignore those that might laugh at you, heck even laugh with them but know they are your dreams and why. But do not take them down and look at them every day, repeat them to yourself each and every day to where you can say them backwards word for word.
I share a few of my whys with you only to make myself more responsible to myself. I have a few material things that I want out of life, but mainly I want to be debt free, have financial and time freedom, to spend more quality time with my family and friends. I want to travel and do much more Disaster Management Training and Deployments to help my fellow man. I want to be healthy and in shape, eating and exercising daily. The big goals that I want are for my other dreams to help others and so it matters that I ever lived and these are the dreams I hold tight, my why.
I want to start a closet for families in need for simple things in life. I would like to call it Grandma Di's Closet and in it would be things like food, children's clothing like coats, hats, shoes, diapers, vouchers for electric, automobile work, and rent deposit and child care. I also want to start a scholarship program for single parents of special needs children for a complete one to two year scholarship, including rent, electric, water, garbage, insurance and other essentials. A two year program at a community college and a one year at a four year college. Perhaps Grandma Di's Closet and the Scholarship could be combined.

Admirable goals. There are so many people in need now. Our church helps a lot of families. Best wishes to you!!!
Great post! I too am an Aquarius and I can definitely relate. I can be the most fun, outgoing person in a room full of people BUT it takes me awhile to get there. I'm very shy at first but once I open up you might be begging me to shup up!!! Good luck with Grandma Di's Closet that sounds like a wonderful idea!
Have you seen Leadership Expert Simon Sinek's famous Ted talk? He's the author of Start With Why. Great guy.

Recently wrote a blog post on 5 key leadership lessons I learnt from him. :)
Do you think I am heading the right direction? I am getting ready to put some focus on making a website but a niche for me is a real struggle
Tell me who you want to help and why? How will you monetize it? Which products can you affiliate with? What will you give them for attract them?
I dont want to monentize this idea, this is what I want to do after I monentize. My next blog is going to be on nice ideas so that i can get some focus, get narrowed down and start on a website. These first two blogs were my attempts at doing a blog or two. I have never done a blog before. Also wanted to share a bit of who I am and what makes me tick.

Visit the Morgan Memorial sites and leaders and see how they have made this type of program happen out of Boston area. Your shop could fund the scholarships maybe. You have a great dream and I wish you the best in it. WA can be a help in raising the scholarship money also. Blessings
