I agree with Morgan; your progress to this point is great! Definitely follow along with the certification trainings as they'll guide you to exactly where you need to go.
In reference to the first portion of your blog post, I want to point out that the "snazziness" of the site isn't as important as the content. If you write good, quality content that can help your readers to solve a problem (in this case, learning to sing) your pages will rank in Google and you'll get traffic.
The writing you have posted is good. Easy to read and grabs your attention. In the certification course you'll learn how to do some keyword research and this will give you all sorts of ideas for topics to write about. In the end, the more content you have, the more chances you give people to show up at your site.

Its grate to see you making progress on here and with your first website building.
Grate first few steps with getting it all set up. I take it your following the certification tasks as this will help you place the correct pages and the best sort of layouts for your site.
I like what you have started doing already. I would properly add in a picture or two within you text, as people tend to back off when placed with lots of just text.
Again well done with your progress and soon enough you'll have a site which will match all those others you have seen.

Great to hear from you and thanks so much for your comments. Yes it is purely a very very first attempt! I spent ages just putting some writing together as a starting point cos that to me was the hardest thing. Where to start!
I reckon i feel nervous about it cos I am not an expert as such at singing -I dont teach or anything - I mean I have learnt to sing and I can sing (LOL) and I do know a fair bit - so I thought just starting with an absolute beginners site may be a way to go - we will see where that takes me! Gotta start somewhere I guess! And like everything else you never know till you try. And yes I will think about layout and stuff for the site a bit further down the track with pictures etc. Hope all is going well with you and I am looking forward to your next blog! Cheers

Hey Michelle, I think you have done a great job considering this is your very first time at doing this stuff. A couple of suggestions I have. On your introduction page try to break up the text a little bit. When people come to a site, they want to be able to skim over the text and get a sense of what it is all about. I'll read what I wrote out loud and if there are any words I put emphasis on while reading, I bold it!
Also, add some images of yourself performing, this way you are connected with your readers. If you have any images of you singing when you were younger that would be great also. It will show that you have always had a love for singing.
Another thought, was how cool that would be if you had some YouTube videos that taught me how to sing. I love singing, and I can hit some notes but I would love to be able to sing in public and captivate an audience. I've always thought you just had to be born with that gift.
Those are just a few suggestions. Keep at it, no matter what and keep asking for feedback. If you need any help don't hesitate to ask.

Yes I am going to learn to all the cosmetic stuff I think when I upgrade to the premium membership. You gave me an idea though regarding pictures - I do have some pictures of me performing.
YouTube videos are great too but I will have to pluck up real courage for that one - hah hah hah - but yes another great idea so thank you.
I hope things are going well for you with the Footprints site. I did message you through the site and hope you received it. I love Footprints. In fact a wierd thing happened the other day just after I read your site - I opened this box in the back of my wardrobe which I never open looking for something and a leaflet with Footprints was the first thing I saw. How about that! Footprints showed up in my path twice in one week - gotta be a message in that right!!!

Hey Michelle, I did get your message on my blog and I wrote you back and sent it to your hotmail account. Did you get it?
Boy do I know about getting up the courage to go on camera. I've done it before but it's definitely not one of my favorite things to do. The way I look at it is there are far more crazy people doing YouTube videos then me and I'm just going to take the plunge and not worry about what others say. ;)
I think that is soooo cool how God gives us these little things in our lives that lets us know he's right beside us, or carrying us, when we need him. Make me smile so big. :)
After taking the advice of Veronica I added a little box asking visitors to share a story of how the Footprints in the Sand poem has helped them through a trying time. I want to feature one of these stories on the front page of the site every month/week/day.
Would you be one of the first to write your story so I can use it as a featured story on the site? It doesn't have to be long by any means but just something that might touch someones else's heart that is going through something.
