Drone Hunting, Yes, Its a real thing

Yesterday I was researching some keywords to use as an example in one of my posts.

As is my habit, I picked a keyword and started jumping through the alphabet to see what I could find.

I chose the Keyword "Drone".

I was fast forwarding through the alphabet when I reached H.

Drone Hunting popped up. I said to myself, self, what's this all about. Are people using Drones to hunt or are people hunting the drones like birds as they fly overhead.

Well, it turns out that there is a huge feral pig population in Arkansas, Texas, Alabama and Florida. The drones are being outfitted with infrared sensors and being flown after dark to identify where these critters are hiding out.

I don't think flying a drone at night is sanctioned by the FAA but it is being done in any event.

So, Drone hunting, its a real thing.

Now, there was an article on drone hunting from a slightly different perspective. It turns out that one forward thinking official (In Deer Trail Colorado) is issuing Drone Hunting Licenses. There are actually people being given a piece of paper (printed on Velum actually) that says they can shoot down drones that fly over their property(In Deer Trail).

It looks like a win for the town coffers.

How would you monetize this niche?

I would sell drones ($100 to $5000)and their associated Infrared sensing devices ($186 to $1799)

I bet many of these hunters are gettin' their dogs to help root out the varmits. So, a dog GPS to keep track of them might be in order. $300-$4000 depending on the number of collars. Of course, first aid equipment for the dogs 'cause them big 'ol Boars are a nasty sort.

Vehicle accessories for the well outfitted Hog hunter. Maybe a sticker with a big red X over a pig outline for the side of their truck.

Perhaps a winch to load the sucker in the truck.

Gun Racks of course.

Heck, even a few Polaris UTVs might fit the niche ($7000 to $18000.00) or a 4 wheeler to get the sucker out of the woods.

Then ya gotta skin the little piggies and so knives and butchering equipment would be necessary. Then of course, there is the obligatory BAR-B-QUE. So, they'll need a smoker big enough for a gathering of 20 or so hunters. BAR-B-QUE sauce for the bunch.

Heck Yeah, this niche has got it all. Put on yer redneck Piggy wifebeater (it's a T-shirt with the sleeves cut off) and have at it.

Brings a whole new meaning to the term. SQUEEEEEL PIGG!
