From 1988 to 2013, I was in the video game industry developing games for Nintendo, Sega, Online and eventually apps for iPhone. I have been around tech since the days of DOS and 5 1/4 Floppy Disks. I knew early on, income via the internet was the future and in 2001 I started selling on eBay. It became a fun way to supplement my video game development income. By 2005 I was an eBay Top Rated Power Seller. How did I do that so fast? I diversified once I learned how to utilize the eBay auction platform.
From 2013 to 2019, I joined Wealthy Affiliate because I had just lost my job in the video game industry. The company I worked for in the NYC area, was bought out by a west coast company. I didn't want to leave my family ties to here in NJ and I had the eBay business going to hold me until I could find something more stable. I immediately started taking the training here at WA, when the platform looked so different than it does now. I actually came here to learn how to build my own website to take my eBay business to the next level.
BUT...That didn't happen. I was blown away at the concept of affiliate marketing and it wasn't hard for me to grasp, being in tech prior did help. So I quickly said, eBay website on back burner and building an affiliate marketing niche website on the front burner, flame on high. I started making some money with a website about my video game development days. Then I built a website to promote WA and made even more money. The most I made was $955.00 per month in WA referral commissions. WA works for those who make an effort!
From 2019 to Present, I am now in a new career. Back in August of 2016, I became what some states like mine call an N-EMT but mainly I am a medical patient transporter. Anyone that is mobile and doesn't require a stretcher. I didn't think I was going to go from a tech job of 25 years and enter healthcare. I enjoy it and little did I know that it would give birth to the niche I am in now that is earning me more than $3,000.00 per month. One door closes and another door opens. I spent less time here at WA, though I will never leave. and then...
COVID-19 hit the world and we here in the U.S. had supply chain problems when it came to getting Personal Protection Equipment. People in healthcare and especially during COVID, were going through 2 dozens of masks and gloves everyday if not more. I went searching and found a supplier that had an affiliate program. Now I have other medical patient transporters using my affiliate link to stock up on extra PPE for themselves to avoid shortage that we all know will happen again with the next outbreak. - See My Latest WA Blog!
Lately I have been stepping in and out of the WA community, going back up into the Top 25 Ambassadors and then back down to where I am now. It's a roller coaster with me because my healthcare job and my PPE affiliate marketing niche, keeps me busy, keeps me earning. I'm starting up a new website, again promoting WA. It will be a slow build, I am already earning and that's why it will be slow, but it will be fun too! I know the WA affiliate marketing training works! It can work for you too! Just make a consisted effort and avoid the distractions.
In 2003 I decided to go online. In real life I did sales in all ways like door to door, carsales, beds and after that I travelled the world and everywhere where I liked it I worked in sales or in hotels using my capability to adapt to my surroundings, in which my knowledge of 5 languages really helped me.
In 2000 I unfortunately was in the middle of the fireworks explosion in Enschede, The Netherlands, you know? Europe! After that my energy of life first went fast down and I just lost everything, started travelling without home-base, you call it homeless, we call it houseless, I didn't have a roof to fall back on and in such a period you're the only one you can help yourself.
After that period I joined several socalled:"learn fast - earn faster" programms, all more busy with upsales than with teaching people something good, so I returned to sales and travelling , my old way of living and I enreally enjoyed it. Only, the idea of an independent life without having one point of living, the socalled digital nomad didn't let go.
In 2015 I discovered Wealthy Affiliate, a platform, that really shows itself. Owners who don't hide behind all (im)possible walls and a chat forum in which people help you. There was one ambassador, who helped me extreme good, that was Loes, who understood, that it wasn't easy to switch to English in courses since she is also Dutch. All the help here, the honesty of the platform, reliability the human support. The lessons giving, the serious answers when a question rose....it all helped me so great, that I started my online busines giving me an online income so I thought I knew all I needed and within a few years I left Wealthy Affiliate, my websites were so great, that I started travelling again, in this case without finding jobs in between to survive, only, sometimes one has questions and not being a member here made it hard to devellop a great online living, so.......
I really felt as if I was "houseless" again only this time with the practical way of working/learning develloping myself and I joined in 2019. Now I decided I will only promote Wealthy Affiliate and I sold my sites, which promote other products for a good price. Wealthy Affiliate is the platform to learn all you need to know, inclusive AI and to pass it on to the next generation of online entrpeneurs!

In late 2007, I discovered Squidoo, which introduced me to the world of blogging, affiliate marketing, networking, and content creation. I was a rookie blogger at that time, and the ability to share my passion for crafting and storytelling rose to a new level of creative potential.
The Squidoo platform appealed to me because it was free of charge and offered the ability to earn money for writing. I have lived on Social Security disability since 1994. so my need for increased income and passion for owning my own business had seemingly found a place to belong... which it did, for a short time.
In 1995, an emotional breakdown and chronic hospitalization had led me to internet for research purposes. My body was weakened by rapidly emerging memories, which forced me to focus my full time attention to the task of trauma recovery. Squidoo offered an opportunity for me to experience digital creativity, and an aspiring webmaster was born. I was thrilled!!
Once Squidoo was sold, I turned to free versions of DIY web hosts so I could continue to engage in the process that was empowering my emotional healing journey. That being, using technology and the power of the internet to artfully express my passion for teaching. My topics have long been craft tutorials, Bible stories, and homeless recovery from my point of view.
It took years for me to recognize that I was also becoming a mental health advocate, so by the time I discovered Wealthy Affiliate, I had become more comfortable talking about the rigors of recovery, which is awkward conversation for many people.
My frequent hospitalizations had positioned me for recurring group therapy, and I was told by one of my therapists that the hospital staff was always given "fair warning" when I was on the hospital roster, due to the fact that I was "treatment savvy."
LOL, the fact that mental health providers felt engaged by my extreme engagement in their educational materials nurtured my "Egghead," and helped break the shame I felt about always being the "new kid" at school.
Frequent childhood relocations caused emotional, financial, and relational instability that lasted for decades.
I realize this is a lengthy response, but sharing my WA story is a once in a lifetime opportunity that showcases the need for a personal web presence that enables us to teach in a truly consumable fashion for the readers we each hope to engage.
Niches, and categories, and relevance are critical components to long-term relationship building, which has been one of the greatest missing pieces in my life.
In my experience, my inability to provide consistent content and nurture long-term, online conversations has helped me see how those inconsistencies are a reflection of my dissociated thinking lines.
Being able to recognize my faulty life foundation is one of the greatest outcomes of my inconsistent, but relentless pursuit of creating an online presence.
I have lost count of the number of domains I have created since I was first introduced to the wonders of web development. We're talking literally hundreds of domains, because each one was a digital expression of my very fractured inner world.
The discovery of Wealthy Affiliate was the turning point that has enabled me to finally, fully recognize and define my niche(s), and has made it possible for me to finally establish the business aspect for my site(s). The necessity of working on a shoestring budget has given me an area of expertise that I had not yet recognized as a skill that could be monetized, so I am very grateful for the terminology and training that helped me recognize that fact!!

In June, 2022, I discovered Wealthy Affiliate. It didn't take long for me to make the decision to go premium, because I was able to create 10 domains for the low price of 49.00. Due to my disability income, that was a stretch, but my need for art as therapy support in a digital format outweighed the need to fine tune my budget. I needed the support for my therapy work, so I chose to spend that money on "Me."
Also, I had a lot of experience with tech support teams for the many other platforms I had used, so I immediately recognized the exemplary support that is provided by our incredible team of support engineers here at WA. My construction efforts were no longer hindered by long waits for tech support and failed platform performance!!
The most crucial outcome of building and re-building, and re-building is the fact that I finally recognized that the same process was taking place in my mind and emotions.
In the psych world, that's called integration, which is the goal for those of us who are working to overcome dissociative and traumatized thinking lines. The construction and recurring reconstruction process of my multiple domains was constructing and reconstructing the faulty mental foundations of my childhood!!!
The most recent outcome of my efforts is the fact that I registered my LLC on February 3, 2025. I have finally begun to sell some products through my Shopify store and products on Amazon.
My need to be able to work at home, and at my own pace has finally come to fruition!!! My recovery journey is not fully complete yet, but... I am now equipped to digitally share the lessons I have learned about trauma recovery while I continue to engage in the completion of my own healing journey.
Panic and despair have lost their grip on my life. I have a strong sense of purpose for the pain I have endured, because my greatest desire is for my business to help create the solutions I needed when I became homeless due to the symptoms associated with my adverse childhood experiences. (ACEs)
I know, I know... the problem side of my niches are awkward and uncomfortable, but we are turning the corner into new conversations now!!!
As we move forward together, I will be discussing the solution side of these issues with you!! My business provides art as therapy support, but also, my role as a TRAUMA INFORMED creative business concierge gives me the ability provide courses, best practices, and fundraising for business and ministry leaders whose budgets are strained by constant turnover, high costs of training, and emotional chaos in workplace and ministry environments.
It has taken years of discovery, but my faith life has been removed from the four walls of the church and into the digital mastery zone of AI powered web development. My perspective about "helping those who are homeless" has been forever changed, and I couldn't be more grateful for the journey that has shifted my perspective.
My passion is to help raise awareness about the fact that we need to develop recovery strategies that will move us BEYOND the need for blessing bags and food boxes as our primary recovery protocols.
One of my favorite parts of the story is this... in the early days of my arrival here at WA, I was highly symptomatic due to fact that I was in the midst of yet another cross-country relocation. I was desperately seeking to "work from home," so I could break free of the confines of living on my very fixed income and diminished physical ability to maintain employment.
Both @Kyle and @Carson responded to my many queries with kindness and the gentle instructions I needed to help reframe my thinking about my construction process.
They kept directing me to the training that I was unable to absorb at that time, and their kind responses are the hallmark of the entire community. The community camaraderie is one of the things I love most about being a member of Wealthy Affiliate.
I feel welcome and loved and celebrated... in spite of the awkward conversations I typically bring to the table!!
It will take some time to fully develop the training materials I have in mind, but my foundation is growing stronger each day. I'm grateful for the many loving people who willingly share their insights and expertise with others who need love, support, and encouragement to pursue our dreams of business ownership.
I am grateful that my lifelong search for a place to belong has landed in this digital space where I can engage with fellow entrepreneurs that are fully committed to the development of their own business dreams.
Together, we are a force for good and I am thrilled to be a part of the Wealthy Affiliate family. Thank you, one and all... for being a significant part of my recovery journey, and for becoming such an important part of my everyday life.
With much love and many prayers for all of us,
Connie

Connie,
This is one of the most inspiring journeys I’ve read in a long time. The way you’ve turned pain into purpose, and technology into therapy, is nothing short of extraordinary. Your story isn’t just about healing... it’s about leading others out of the wilderness with a light you built yourself.
My humble Namaan

Oh, my goodness... instant tears! Thank you, Fleeky. It is all about the grace of GOD, or I would NOT still be here!!
Thank you for your kind and beautiful words. Truly, a measure of the WA healing balm that is so good for all of us.
Thank you so much, Kyle. I'm grateful for the stability that is becoming the new hallmark of my life!!
Now here's a great example of being thorough 😊It's great to read such positivity, don't know else how to say this!
The first notes won't be the last

Many moons ago, I was looking for website hosting. I came across Wealthy Affiliate (WA) and joined. I believe Kyle and Carson had just started the business. After about a year I left as I needed more services than were on offer at the time.
Fast forward to 2020 and a friend asked me to take another look at WA. It was a totally different platform, offering advanced services and multiple website hosting. I've now been here for 5 years.
What has amazed me is the dedication to continuous development, making the latest tools and technology available for the benefit of clients.
The training, perfect for any aspect of online entrepreneurship, is amongst the best I've used.
If you are looking to start your online journey or are a seasoned entrepreneur, want fantastic services, outstanding training and great support then I would highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate.
Hello Kyle and WA Fam.
I found Wealthy Affiliate while searching online, trying to figure out how to reach more people with a positive message.
I wasn’t looking to get rich quick—I just wanted to learn how to share hope online in a real way.
When I joined WA, I was like “Okay... this is actually solid.” The training was super easy to follow, and honestly, you get a ton of value right from the start.
Since joining, I’ve learned how to do SEO, keyword research, and even built a few online businesses.
But one of the coolest things? I helped optimize my church’s website—and because of that, someone literally found us on Google while searching for rehab help.
For those that may not know, our church runs a free program for families affected by gangs and drugs. When someone actually landed on our site because it had been optimized for a specific keyword and came through our doors, I was like Wow!!!
That was huge. That’s when I realized, this works.
What keeps me here is the WA community—it’s got a real family feel. The tools are top-notch, the Premium membership is worth every cent, and the live webinars with Jay? Always fire.
He breaks things down in a way that makes sense and keeps you up-to-date with what’s working in marketing right now.
Wealthy Affiliate has changed the way I look at online business. It’s helped me increase my income (not a millionaire yet lol), grow in confidence, and actually build something with purpose.
Going forward, I would like to keep leveling up—learn more about marketing, increase my keyword research skills, and building online businesses that are both successful and reaches more people.
What a powerful outcome for your efforts!!! I love your passion for sharing hope. May God expand your efforts as you continue to do great exploits!
Hi Kyle, good day. You are most welcome and thanks for all WA does. Appreciate you and the team.

I have been on and off for the last 15plus years doing MLM's affiliate marketing, YouTube, blogging etc.
I had become burned out and frustrated with the process. I have had success, but the one thing I hated was that you had to "recruit" and depend on other people to make good money. I had no problem doing that, but the frustration came when the people I recruited didn't do anything.
I had gave up on doing business on the net, I was doing the minimum in SFI, when they decided to pivot and basically go out of business in my opinion. So they gave all the members the opportunity to sign up with WA if we wanted.
I checked it out and the excitement and burning desire I previous had to succeed returned. No longer would I have to depend on a "downline" or anyone else for me to succeed. When I saw how much blogging had changed from when I was doing it in 2012, to me it was a no brainer. I could do more in less time with all the Ai tools that wasn't available back then.
And the support here at WA is out of this world. I mean, you can get help with anything! You can learn how to blog, how to create E-books, how to write a book, how to use social media, YouTube and more!
Since coming here in Nov 24, I have created 2 successful blogs, reignited one of my YouTube channels, growing 2 Facebook pages, started making sales on Amazon, Earning on my YouTube Channel, AdSense and more!.
The problem I have and its a good one, is that I do not have enough time in a day to do all the things I want to do. I have to keep telling myself that I have a 5 year plan, just do something everyday and everything you want to do will get accomplished.
So Yes, I love it here and have no intention of going anywhere.
Larry
I can very much relate to the MLM story here!
Lol, Nightmare :)
