The Internet Stopped Being Social. That's Your Opportunity.

The Internet Stopped Being Social. That's Your Opportunity.

Mark Zuckerberg said something during a January Meta earnings call that should have made every headline in the world, and that I want to loop back to (as I feel it is only going to become more relevant).
He described how social media started as people interacting with their friends and family, and now at least half of the content is people interacting with creators. He said it casually. Like he was reading a weather report. And nobody flinched.

But sit with that for a second...

The platforms that were built on connecting you with people you know have quietly replaced those people with random strangers (and perhaps even bots). And you probably didn't even notice it happening.

Think about your own feed right now. How much of it is actually from people in your life? How much of it is from someone you have never met, in a city you have never been to, making content designed to keep your thumb from scrolling?

That shift didn't happen by accident. The algorithm tested your friends against optimized strangers. Your friends lost. Every single time. A stranger with better lighting, better timing, and a better hook held your attention three seconds longer than someone who actually knows you. So the algorithm buried your best friend's life updates under a cooking video from someone in Dubai you have never met.

And you watched the cooking video. We all did.

That was the first replacement. Friends for strangers. It happened slowly, and most of us barely noticed.

Now here is where it gets interesting....and maybe, a tad unsettling.

Zuck then laid out the next phase. He described how social media has gone through two eras so far. First, content from friends and family. Second, creator content. And the third era? AI-generated content flooding your feed, manufactured in real time to maximize engagement. Meta is spending up to $135 billion in 2026 on the AI infrastructure to make this happen.

So the progression is clear. You lost your friends to strangers. And now the strangers are about to be replaced by potentially machines (but I promise, interesting ones).

An AI does not have a bad week. It does not post something careless and lose the algorithm's favor. It does not burn out. Every word calibrated. Every frame tuned. Every pause placed at the exact interval that keeps you watching. A human creator competing against that has a serious problem.

But here is the part that matters to YOU and to anyone building a real business online.

The Internet is Splitting into TWO Lanes.

One lane is going to be flooded with AI-generated content that looks perfect, sounds perfect, and feels... empty. The other lane is going to be filled with real people sharing real experiences, building real trust, and creating interesting and captivating things (err, Kre8ing)...and creating genuine connections with their audiences.

Guess which lane people are going to pay attention to. Guess which lane builds actual businesses that last.

Every piece of authentic content you create. Every honest review you write. Every real experience you share with your audience. That is becoming the rarest and most valuable thing on the internet. Not because it is polished. Because it is REAL.

The platforms are going to keep chasing engagement at all costs. That is their business model and it is not going to change. But the opportunity for people like us, people who build businesses on trust and genuine value and based on their own thought driven creations, has never been bigger.

While everyone else is racing to automate their way to content, you have something no AI can replicate. Your experience. Your perspective. Your story. Youre creativity. The fact that you have actually tried the product, walked the path, and can speak to someone from a place of honesty.

That is your competitive advantage. And it is only going to get stronger.

So the next time you sit down to write a post, craft a new image, build an email sequence, launch a thread on X, create a review, or share something/anything with your audience... remember that you are not competing with AI. You are offering the one thing AI cannot. Something real, from someone real, who actually cares whether it helps.

The internet forgot how to be human. That is not a problem for you. That is your opening.

I want to hear your take on this. Have you noticed the shift in your own feeds? Are you seeing more content from strangers and less from people you know? And how are you thinking about authenticity in your own business? Drop your thoughts below... this one is going to be a great conversation.
