Hey Everyone,

Today, I’m walking you through one of the most exciting updates inside the upcoming Wealthy Affiliate platform, the brand-new Points and Earnings System. This platform is going allow you to earn while you learn, create, and contribute right here within WA!

First Though, the Beer of the Week.

Before diving in, this week’s beer is the Sea Dog Amber Ale by Vancouver Island Brewer. A local favorite brewed right here in Victoria, BC.

Despite not being the biggest fan of amber ales, this one is smooth, lighter than expected, and has just enough caramel notes without being too rich. A great surprise from a reliable (and local) craft brewer.

Earn While You Learn: Points Now Have Value

One of the core updates we’re rolling out with the new UX is the evolution of the Ambassador Program into something even more rewarding: the Leaderboards & Points System.

Here’s how it works:

(1) You Earn by Contributing

Every meaningful interaction in the community—whether it’s:

  • Writing blog posts
  • Helping someone in the comments
  • Asking a thoughtful question
  • Creating tutorials
  • Recording video classes

…earns you points, which now translate directly into real revenue.

(2) Real-Time Earnings Breakdown

Inside the new UX, you’ll be able to see:

  • Your monthly earnings
  • How much each activity or community is contributing
  • Which content types are driving the most value

As of today (Day 23 of the month), I’ve earned $351.89. Naturally, I’m the most active user on the platform, but this shows what’s possible.

Whether it’s $0.50 a month or more than your entire membership cost, it’s now possible to subsidize or even profit from your activity at Wealthy Affiliate.

(3) It’s Competitive, Fair & Dynamic

  • Earnings can rise or fall based on your consistency and community contributions
  • Leaderboards are 30-day rolling, which means no one can dominate forever, everyone has a fair shot
  • Detailed insights show where your points are coming from, so you can double down on what’s working

Building Toward a Creator Economy

This update ties into a much larger initiative. We’re positioning WA as the ultimate creator environment for online business builders. You’ll be able to:

  • Create and share content
  • Generate affiliate commissions from that content
  • Help others and earn revenue through platform contributions
  • Build your brand while building your business

This is the new world of building a business online. Everyone is a creator now, and WA is giving you the tools, the platform, and the rewards to grow as one.

Coming Very Soon

  • We are in late-stage beta.
  • No new features are being added, just polish and testing.
  • This points system, along with new leaderboards, communities, and redesigned core training, is part of the full platform rollout coming in weeks.

This is a great idea Kyle, the idea of being in a platform that has a feature where subscribers can at least subsidize their subscription is amazing.

Few weeks or maybe months ago, I wrote a blog post or maybe a question about allowing members not only to comment on each other's websites but also to backlink. Thus, increasing the SEO position of the member websites. Maybe that can be added to the platform and to the points system as well.

I am aware that Backlinks has many challenges including backlink spamming, but I think this is a challenge not a showstopper.

Again, great idea Kyle, thanx a lot for the continuous evolution of the platform.

I’ve always supported this idea and have done it to some extent here at WA. As long as the backlinks are related to your niche, I think it’s helpful. Of course, backlinks from high DA sites would be even more helpful.

Backlinks are going to be deemed 100% useless very soon, and their value is increasingly less and less important as time goes on. We won't be building anything around backlinking for this reason, we are thinking of the future and where that lies and it has a lot less to do with SEO than it has in the past (though there will still be opportunity/value there).

We also have to be careful about "spam" and as soon as people are sharing with the intent of getting something like a backlink, you are going to see many people trying to abuse a platform like that in attempt to get traffic.

We definitely will have tools that are relevant to now, and the future of the online business world and we will be helping folks here get ahead of the opportunity. As always, we appreciate any and all feedback and suggestions, it is how we grow and improve here within WA. :)

Hi Steve, Before answering your comment, I read Kyle's reply.

I think it is logical for the platform not to get into that if the future holds less weight for backlinking.

Thanks a lot.

1

If the weight for backlinking is shrinking in terms of relevance to SEO, then I totally agree with you that one should not invest time, energy and money on this aspect.

Thank you very much.

Kyle has said this about backlinks many times. Of course, I’m still new at this but when I look at sites ranking on page 1 in Google, they always have tons of referring domains(backlinks).

At the same time, I do see one of my blogging friends showing up on page 1 with a DA 7 and 11 backlinks.

For me, it’s still a mystery on how to get higher ranks. Keyword choices, backlinks amount, niche, AI-assisted vs No AI, stock images vs AI images vs Real images, web design???

2

Ya.. I hear you and get you 100 percent.

2

Just like the AI-assisted vs No AI camps, there’s the Backlink importance vs the No Backlink importance camps.

At times, I feel like no one really knows and it’s all just trial and error. I try my best to follow what successful affiliate marketers are doing.

3

I tried to get at it at one point.. But then realjzed that it is taking a lot of time.. Therefore, I stopped looking for them and settled on social media although their backlinks are "no follow, " but at least they bring traffic.

1

It’s funny when looking back to my first online venture. It was a Facebook Page promoting 1 product. Then, I got swept up into creating websites. Now, since Google is being such a pain in the a@@, it seems I’m heading right back to social media. 🤣

2

I agree. Backlinks exchange is an idea which can be misused, so it's not going to work.

Content is king. Once you have a high quality content on your blog you will get backlinks from other bloggers without you asking for them. You can understand this just by taking your own self. We tend to share content online only when we find it useful, without the creator asking for it. This is a high quality backlink. All you have to do is focus on creating high quality content. Don't worry about the rest. Quality content can get viral even on a single view.

Wish I could believe that high quality content is all you need. If your article isn’t ranked high enough, a majority of people will never find you. That’s why I share my sites on all of the socials.

Google is still the leading search engine right now and I rarely see low DA sites ranking high in the SERPS. Occasionally, I’ll see a low DA on page 1 or 2 but even then, they’re not getting any search traffic. I know because I see many of my articles in these positions with my site only at a DA 4.

This is SO exciting! Wow, I can't believe the best just got better! I've been so focused on my goals here, getting that 150 and heading to Vegas. And now with these new ways to earn, it's a complete game-changer – not just for me, but for everyone I'm bringing to Wealthy Affiliate!! Amazing news, I'm absolutely thrilled!! You and Carson are the best Kyle! Thank you!! 😊

Awesome Kundi, glad you are loving this update.

We definitely want to get you down in Vegas next year as well, and this is going to represent more opportunity than ever for making that happen as there will be more valuable content than ever to share, and you are going to be able to earn through the "share' model as well as you can now.

Looking forward to getting this into your hands, only a few weeks away now. :)

Hi Kyle!

Thank you very much for the update! I am looking forward to the seeing the new platform.

It is great idea of the incorporation of the point platform and the ability to earn for your contributions on the platform.

I just hope that content created will of a high quality and will benefits the platform as a whole. I hope this new platform will run smoothly and fairly for all concerned.

The continued improvements on the platform are greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend! Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

We have always wanted to take the Ambassadorship program to the next level, and this is it. There are now incentives to contribute, other than just rank and it is actually a really fun platform to use as well.

Continued improvements is all we know!

1

Simply awesome! 👍😀😍

1

Clarifying question: Since you and Carson are shown in the ranking as ambassadors, does that mean that we will also be competing against those that are part of WA for the monthly share that is out there? Or, are the two of you excluded from points earned for this new revenue?
Looking forward to the new UX and update, regardless. :-) 🍺

8

You are not competing against us in terms of the revenue (as it skips over us, and doesn't actually pay us,), so that doesn't impact the monthly pool. But we still earn points, can make leaderboards, and this is based purely on our activity. You can oust us if you are more active in the section, and in many cases I am not #1 in many sections.

I hope this clarifies for you here Les, and we look forward to getting this into your hands. :)

1

Thanks for the update. It'll be interesting to see how it develops.

There is already so much content - so many videos and blogs - that I wonder when people will have time to actually read them all and comment, as well as work on their websites and create content within WA themselves.

Also wondering how often the points will be updated. At the moment the ranking seems to only get updated occasionally and there doesn't seem to be a definite time for it.

4

I think it’s an interesting incentive but I wonder the same thing Isabella. How are people running their own business/businesses and also constantly blogging here at WA? Maybe I’m just not at that level yet.

I occasionally write and share things that are on my mind but am more concerned about becoming successful with what I’m working on. Still, I do enjoy reading and learning from those that have the time to blog here. I hope this monetary incentive encourages people to share helpful and thoughtful ideas, rather than simply seeking extra income.

4

I totally agree with you, Steve. I only write a blog when I think I have something to share that people may not know.

2

To answer your question, both of you right now as you’re commenting on this blog post are actively participating inside WA. And I see both of you in chat and in discussions alot. So just like you’re working on your businesses and helping out here in WA, that will be reflected in your activity scores and revenue. This isn’t meant to make people take their focus away from their business, it’s meant to simply give you an additional helping hand by being a helpful member 😎👍🏼💯

5

Understood Batman.

Most of us who actively participate here are naturally inclined to want to help others succeed.

3

That’s what it’s all about 👍🏼

3

But what about this? I thought IT was what it is all about!

You put your [left leg] in,
Your [left leg] out:
In, out, In, out
Shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

3

People don't have to read them all, if you are interested in Youtube and that is your focus (for example), then you would sink into the Youtube community. The idea is that we are an active and knowledgeable community, and if people are rewarded and the platform is gamified, it leads to more and better content (and interactions).

Sure, this will probably lead to more interaction and more creation. That is the goal!

2

Thank you. That makes sense. It'll be interesting to see the different communities.
