One of the challenges of building an online business is figuring out how to turn what you’re passionate about into content that attracts readers, builds trust, and ultimately drives traffic.

Recently, I wrote an in-depth article about immigration policy in Australia. Now, before you scroll away—this isn’t about debating politics here at WA. What I want to share is the business strategy behind it: how you can take any passion topic (yes, even a controversial one) and repurpose it to grow your online presence.


Step 1: Write With Authority and Depth

The article I wrote was long-form (around 1,000 words), well-researched, and structured for Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (E-A-T).

I optimized the article for the keyword “Australian immigration policy” along with long-tails like “immigration policy failures” and “housing and immigration Australia.”

Step 3: Repurposing Content Across Platforms

Instead of leaving the article in one place, I created multiple versions of it:

  • Blog Post (WordPress): The full 1,000-word article with SEO formatting.
  • Social Media Posts: Shorter excerpts for TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter, with a link back to the full post.
  • WA Post (this one): A meta-discussion about how I turned a personal passion into an online traffic asset.

Step 4: Linking and Building Authority
