Posted March 12 and I'm up to page 6 in google search results. Why does a siterubix free site beat out a wix site that has been on the web for almost 2 years?

Do you think google search, or any search engine ranks websites better, depending on the platform they're built on?

The reason why I'm thinking they do, back in 08 when I built my first website, I spent a year and half building, keyword research, all in title, keyword rich content. No traffic, I'm talking maybe up to 5 people a day. That's all I ever got.

So I shut that site down and built the same website on weebly, within a month I was seeing traffic and started selling products worldwide. That site is still on first page search results for a lot of its products pages.

So then I built a site, maybe 2 years ago on wix. I can't get traffic. Now mind you, I copied and pasted this same blog on the wix site and here is the siterubix in search. Not sure where the one is for wix.

So now I'm thinking I need to build my site here at WA and take down the wix site. That's a lot of work though. I have a lot of products up on the wix site. Thoughts?

Thank You

Kenny

Yes, I have heard they do. Wealthy affiliate has good domain authority and I think that is supposed to help with ranking.

That would be another great reason for using WA if it's true!

I would focus here instead of Wix.

Also be careful not to copy and paste even if it is from one of your websites to the other. That is still considered duplicate content. If you take down the Wix site so that content only exists on the new site then it might be ok. I am not sure.

That's a lot of work. I have a lot of products up on the other site. I just can't get traffic. That's why I haven't moved a domain here yet, wanted to see how it ranks first with search engines.

I didn't know about the duplicate content, I thought that was only within your own website. Good to know.
I was just trying to run a test.
Thanks for your input.

You could probably copy it all over and then delete the other site if you want.

I understand it would be a lot of work, but if it gives you a lot more traffic it would seem to be worth it.
