An Idea to Help Our Newest Members Thrive
Hey Everyone,
One of the best things about Wealthy Affiliate is the incredible community. The willingness of everyone to jump in, answer questions, and offer support on the public forums is truly what makes this platform so special.
Even with such a supportive environment, we all remember what it's like to be new. The initial learning curve can feel steep, and the sheer amount of information can be overwhelming. Sometimes, a new member might get stuck on a lesson or have a question but feel a bit shy about posting it publicly. We all know that learning involves trial and error, but sometimes that process can feel a lot like failure, causing them to hesitate.
To help our newest members build confidence and stay focused, I want to create an additional layer of support: a volunteer contact list.
This list would be a directory of experienced members who are willing to talk one-on-one with newcomers. It's a simple idea: in my welcome campaign emails, I'd include a short list of trusted members and say, "When you get stuck, feel free to send a private message (PM) to someone on this list."
This would give a new member a specific person to turn to for advice, whether it's to ask about the training, get a second opinion on a "shiny new tool" before they buy it, or simply touch base with someone who has been there before.
To be clear, this initiative is designed to complement our amazing open forums, not replace them. It's simply another tool in our toolbox to help ensure every single person who joins WA has the best possible chance to succeed.
This is where I need your help.
I'm looking for community members who would be willing to have their names on this contact list. If you enjoy helping others and would be open to receiving a PM from a new member now and then, please let me know. Likewise, if you know someone who would be a perfect fit for this, please suggest them!
Thank you for helping me with this initiative. Together, we can make the journey for our new members even smoother and more successful.
Respectfully, Kundi

Instead of a creating a list of members to PM, you could instead put together a list of members to follow. This way you're helping new referrals connect and follow seasoned members who are sharing their successes and hurdles in their WA blogs. ππΌ
I had a top 10 list of members I would always encourage my referrals to follow for that exact reason.
Itβs a lot less intrusive than having everyone PM the same handful of people.
And as always, encourage new members to reach out into chat and into the community for answers as this is the most immediate way to get answers π―
Thank you, Eric. No doubt about it newbies should definatelty follow all the people on the list. I encourage that 100%. The list will a bit more than a follow though because the people on the list agree to have a deeper relationship with new WA members.
I'd leave it as a "follow these experts" list and use your experience and judgment to come up with the seasoned members to put on it.

Yeah, because the other way seems intrusive. One of the things I mostly love about WA is the community it already has.
