Changing affiliate links?
Hi, I was just wondering about changing the affiliate links. I am an affiliate for PetSmart via LinkShare. I get links from them for individual products that provide me with a linked picture of each product. But the thing is, the links only direct to the PetSmart front page, not the pictured product. I was thinking, can I change the link code where it says "www.petsmart.com" to the link to the pictured product? Would that ruin the affiliate link so I won't get paid?

Linkshare has a concept called Deep Linking. This is where you can specify the URL that you want to link to and Linkshare will create the associated affiliate link. Unfortunately, not all vendors within LinkShare support it so you will have to see whether PetSmart is included in the drop down list when you select Deep Linking.
If they don't you can always email the affiliate manager of PetSmart and ask if they will be willing to be included as part of the deep linking strategy. If they are not, ask them if there is a mechanism to do what you are looking to do.
