I want to change the title of a post or a page. Should I change the permalink below the title box or not? What would happen if I leave it and if I change it? Does this impact ranki
Hi Krasi, it is best to change the permalink or the title of your page will be different than the link to it. If that makes sense.
The only way it will impact on rankings is if it is a page that has been developed some time ago and already ranking well in the search engines. Also the sitemap will reflect the changed title for the search engines.
Changing the title and permalink in effect changes the whole thing to a brand new piece of work.
Hope this helps.
Lis.

Hi Richard,
Your guidance on the use of the "more" button has worked perfectly. Thanks so much!

In the settings > reading section of your WP dashboard, have you checked the box stating: "For each article in a feed, show" and click "summary" ?
Also, you can create your own custom excerpts for your blog roll, which would be completely different from the post excerpts of the first few sentences of your posts.
To do this, simply go to edit a post and at the very top of the screen on the right there is a "Screen Options" drop down.
Click that, and then check the "Excerpt" button. This will enable a text editor window below your post that you can create a custom excerpt for your article as it appears in the blog roll.
Also, make sure you're updating your posts' descriptions within the All In One SEO pack so your description of your post displays correctly in the SERPs (Alternatively, if you're using Yoast's SEO, you can do with that too.)
Hope this helps :)
Hi Matt..thanks for dropping by...yeah, I checked the box and summary...it shows the full article...for the second option,I did it with one article but it didn't show the excerpt....
