How I found my first niche in an hour
This will be a long post, but bear with me.
So I came in here, kind of desperate for something meaningful to do with my time, besides the usual mundane and not so mundane things - things I believe in.
I searched the web for ways of making money online, like everyone else here, and I kept ending up with some affiliate of WA. It has taken a few years to "get it", and I've been a sceptic - I'll admit that much, but this time around it dawned on me. These guys have the market in the palm of their hand.
So I thought "what the hey" and went in and had a look. "What is this? One free week of membership, no credit card, no nothing? Now this can't be for real." But being me, seeing the 'FREE' sign gave me just the right amount of motivation to have a look inside. Seeing what all the fuss what about, no strings attached.
The first video tutorial was an eye opener. "Is it really that simple?" I moved further into the course..
I must have been half way through the second video tutorial that it hit me for real;
WA is making it easy for me to grasp the business model. I've seen countless motivational videos online, wrapping it in cryptic messages, shoddy whiteboard aesthetics, big bold words and long drawn out explanations.
Kyle made everything look so obvious. I was almost laughing out loud, sitting there with my pen and paper at 2 in the morning, scratching down ideas and arrows and bubbles with unreadable text.
And then I read Veronica's 6 Ways to Make Money with Your Wordpress Blog.
How she broke down the people vs. problems concept was mindblowing. It gave me an angle I've never experienced before.
A little later I reached the task where I had to write down my financial and non-financial goals. The numbers came up instantly. I've always been sort of content with what I have, but it has always been marginal. So I came up with something pleasant enough, but while doing it I almost put my pen through the paper.. Same with my non-financial goals.
Now here's when everything fell into place. I got to the part where we find our niche. In a way it pushed me a little, stressed me out, but in a good way. Find your niche HERE, NOW.
I looked at my notebook with a slight sense of vertigo, and somewhere, somehow I had written it down, a few pages back.
Problem solving. Needs. What do people like. What do they need. What do they love.
I love music. I love sound. I love headphones. Headphones? HEADPHONES!!! OH MY GOD I HAVE TO GO TO BEzZzzz! It happened basically like that. Eureka moment right before passing out, exhausted.
So in short, Wealthy Affiliate asked me what I would like to sell, what I was passionate about, and what I would sacrifice to make it happen. And it was so simple:
Here's what we do, here's what you do, this is what happens with the right amount of time and conviction.
BAM. I love audio. Sound. Music. What do I see outside? People. Wearing headphones.
Just like me.

Funny you should mention company name, as it seems I coined it back in march before I ever thought I would end up here doing this, and it kinda lightbulbed on me as I wrote this blog..life sure is strange sometimes.

I totally get what you mean. I sort of thought the same thing earlier today, time and space and how they sometimes almost seem to work independently. Did I do that then, for this now? Huh?!
