Best Anti Malware 2014

Some people say that Malware and viruses are the same thing, but there is a bit of difference because Malware is often described as a combined word for many malicious software’s such as Spyware, Adware, Rootkits, Trojans and Worms. A virus can replicate itself over and over again and infect many computer’s while a Spyware works differently and often send information to a third party but never multiplies. Both Malware and viruses can cause a lot of trouble and it’s important to know how to protect a computer against these types of threats.

How To Keep Your Computer Safe in The Long Run!

A computer needs a good antivirus program, and I can recommend Avira Premium but any antivirus program from a respected company is good to use, because without computer protection, Malware and viruses will find its way to your computer in no time. An antivirus program can protect your computer against many threats, but to be able to close the door to other Malware such as Spyware and Rootkits, it’s not a bad idea to look for a Malware removal tool that can help your antivirus program to guard your computer and fight back Malware and virus attacks.

Is It Ok To Use A Free Anti Malware Tool?

Yes, of course, but it’s important that you know how the program works and that it get new updates regularly. Free programs often require you to manually update it with new Malware definitions, but it’s very easy to forget to run an update and a Malware removal tool that’s out-of-date can put your computer in a great risk. It’s important to update a security program on a daily or weekly basis and with a premium tool, it takes care of the updates automatically.

Free Anti Malware programs are often used to get people interested so that they will upgrade later or the developers will monetize their program with pop up ads and promotional emails. It requires a full-time staff to be able to develop, update and improve a software program. Hiring coders cost money and a software company is not working with charities and they have to find a way to monetize their products or they will not survive. You will get a better service, a higher security and regular updates using a premium tool, so you have to ask yourself how important it is to protect your computer against Malware and if a free program is the best choice or not.

Let me know.

Good advice :)

Thanks Shawn, Just trying give some people,Some help,On this subject.

malware can be a real pain, I have dealt with it in force and it can go as far as reloading the operating system, it pays to have protection

For my MAC I use Intego. It monitors all traffic on a real time basis.

Nice.Doug and Debbie.Just seems like some people have issues on their Anti-Malware.

Sorry I have an apple, don't use anything. My son gave it to me and told me don't put anything on it . He is my computer geek. LOL

If that works for you,That is great.I have used norton some years back.
It works good. I can get the norton full version for free, with Comcast.
It may be some of the programs that we run,On our side. Linda its like a good recipe from grandma,Why would you change it.

I use a windows computer at work and Comcast in out area is now using something called Constant Guard, they dropped McAfee went to Norton, Now Constant Guard. For windows computers (HP) I liked Norton, for Toshiba they also dislike Norton but liked McAfee.
Personally I dislike the people who cause the viruses.

great blog i must go premium on my malware then..I have been really lazy lately in updating my antivirus and malware programs..good timing in reading this thanks.

Hello Mike, Running your Anti-Malware you have to do it. Look at it from your point of view.Personal Chef. I want my steak medium well,
Not well done. It is great info...................

Lots of great education thank you

Hope that it will helps you. I will add a list soon.Ken

Hi - I find Microsoft Security Essentials to do a really good job for me.

it IS free - but going on your premise - I have already invested in Windows 7 (and 3.1, and XP, and Vista and etc etc) - so it's in MS's best interests to give me free software that will protect my operating system, and stop me going over to apple/linux etc - just as I'm sure those would have similar programs.

What I don't like are the popups you get after buying a new PC, and allowing your inbuilt "free trial" to expire - and the really concerning things they say to scare you into buying their premium products.

If I already have the software of the manufacturer of the OS - do I really need another premium package to protect me? I have my doubts - but I DO AGREE that not being aware of protection and what you do or don't have, could be a very dodgy game to play.

All the best, Mark

I use security essential too! I also think extra maleware protection is needed with it though.

Angel, There are some pretty great free Anti-Malware programs out there.

Yes, there are. :) I love free stuff lol.

Hello mark,What I can tell you,Is this.Try not to hit on the pop ups,for a free download. I will put out a list of some free program. We have been running many different Anti-Malware programs on 15 different systems.
I like to see what works the best...Instead of just,This is the BEST.

I use Norton for virus protection and Malwarebytes for malware protection.

Hi Carla, As you may see that norton,Does slow the system down.
Malwarebytes is very good.
We many different Anti-Malware on different systems of ours.

Norton works much better for me than McAfee did, so I'm happy with it. . . . for now.

I have a Mac. Went almost 7 years without protection and never picked anything up. I put on Norton a few months back and now my computer is so slow. I may take it back off. Not worth the hassel. On the flip side, I am constantly having to fix other people's computers. Even when they have antivirus. I can't imagine what would happen without. I will never own a pc.

Mac's don't like Norton.

Hi Linda,You are right.Norton does slow the system down.

I have found that out the hard way. Comcast offers it for free, that is why I have it. I don't think PC likes Norton either. I put it on my grandfathers and it slowed way down. He is 86, on a very fixed income and needs something fully automated. So, Norton fits the criteria. If anyone has a better suggestion though, I would love to hear it. I have been away from PC for so long, I am out of the loop. LOL

I use a combination of free tools which I recommend to my IT customers as well. I use Avast! Antivirus free edition coupled with Malware bytes for the Spyware and Adware bloat that's out there.

Yes, the Malwarebytes requires hands on use, but so long as you run it weekly, it seems to get the job done well. For those customers that I don't believe would either remember to run it, or aren't technically capable of doing so, I recommend the upgraded Malwarebytes as it has constant monitoring.

I used Avira for a long time, but that was a while back and it didn't update definitions very often. I have heard that this has since been taken care of.

Thanks for the great post!

Thanks Tony, Malwarebytes works great.

Malewarebytes Anit-Maleware is what I have on mine and was recommended to me by the IT guy at my mom's office. I like it fine and it's free version is doing well for me.

Great program,We also use it.Free version works great. We many different ones,However that is on all of our systems.

Ah, I wasn't sure how long it had been out. I just started using it this year. I had gotten a lot of maleware and spyware and my laptop was having fits lol. Malewarbytes got me all sorted out though. My brother's a computer geek too and he swears by this one and microsoft security essentials. (Like Mark mentioned.)
