I'm confused about the Google webmaster tools. it says i have 0 URLs indexed in Google, but WA says I have 8 URLs indexed in Google. Shouldn't the number match?
I submitted
You could always manually submit your URLs and then request indexing.
This could take just a couple of minutes but certainly within 24 hours.
You get stuck, you get in touch.

See what comes up ... those listed are indexed..

I did that in a Google search just now and a bunch of my articles pooped up. So I guess that means they are there. I didn't realize I could do thanks!

Yeah this is a good way to confirm things are indexed.
Maybe the Search console needs time to update... keep an eye on it .. and if no success... look at what Robert is saying too ... You can manually submit them

I would suggest getting in contact with support or Kyle to see how they get their information from..as you say they should match if it has been indexed by google then it should say it there as well...on the other hand you could find it out for yourself by typing the following on your address bar ---> site:[your web address here]
That should tell you if your site has been indexed by Google, Bing and the meta tags saved by the search engines.
