Why build and run an online business?
Following my previous blog post, I asked myself this very question to better clarify myself and my goals. I always knew I wanted to work for myself and had the obvious reasons floating around my head - financial freedom, passive income, support my travel lifestyle etc. however, they never seemed to really be enough as I would still lack constistency and drive when it came to working on it. I wouldn't describe myself to be a lazy person in the slightest, I believe my biggest drawback was, fear?
Fear of failure, of the competition and of getting disappointed in the end. The first thing I did was twist this statements into positives:
Fear of failure: I don't tend to believe in failure as I believe we always have something to gain for every life experience. To me, failure would be that this didnt work out, I didnt succeed in earning a passive income and worked so hard for nothing.
However, I would still have earned the skills of website design, content writing, niches, marketing, etc. I will learn so much by doing this that what I regard to be a 'failure' would be insignificant. The learnings along the way will be what are most valuable and besides, there are always other options and other ways to make things happen.
As for the 'whys' here is whay I came up with. By buildinging and running my own online business:
I will earn a passive income, gain financial freedom and save money for future study plans.
I will be able to support my dream lifestyle of travelling freely
I will improve the lives of others and inspire them to live better
I will live by my own terms and empower others to do the same.
My final lists consisted of about a dozen "I will"s but this a reasonable summary of it all. To put it into one sentence, my reasoning would be:
I want to be the master of my life, live it the best way possible and encourage others to do the same.
My goal is to be earning a passive income that supports me, my lifestyle and other aspirations by my birthday in 2019. I have14 months to make this happen and I have faith that I can.

It's my belief that if one works hard enough and sets their goals at a reasonable pace they could could achieve what they set out to accomplish. So be mindful of that, working with this type of business is a great way to monetize and what you put in is what you will get out of it, so absolutely I think you can do it!
