Torn between the two
I am ideally at the split between novice in one website and wanting to master another completely different website which I just bought a domain for.
I have a basic wix site for starting off and the niche is real popular and I do believe I will have a little success as soon as I complete content, however I bought a domain that means more to me than life, a wbsite I have dreamt up since college and just didn't know how to utilize it (still don't) and literally what I ultimately want to give more time to.
The niche on my wix site is completely different from my domain (.com) so would it be a good idea to still generate money with the wix site? Is it even possible to generate money from a basic wix site? Is it a good idea to use wix site for practice then move on to real domain when I have more experience? I saw the transfer option but it isnt't related to my domain site so I am kind of like which one do I go for now.

It is possible to transfer your wix site whenever your ready.
Earning money is ofacourse possible with a wix site. But a website with it's own domain name ranks better an generates traffic better. Thus, has a higher pontential of earning compared to wix site.

With the premium membership, we can have 25 sites and 25 sites using our own domains there is plenty of opportunities. We can transfer in both websites and domain names to WA for hosting purposes.
if you are looking for something to practice on, create a test site using one of your Site Rubix sites, it can be a great way to test things out and play around
At the start of the day, it will come down to how much time you have to put into your online projects. Possibly focus on one and get it up to speed, that domain that you have and speaks to you could be the one that will be the one, you obviously have energy invested. the training here is all about taking you on that journey of developing that site, so it can be a case of just following along.
It is how to create something special and you have basically answered your own questioning go for it.
