Something Old, Something New

You know how you reach a point in your life where you say "Enough is enough is enough"? I'm at that point right now.
But first an update.
Even though I haven't been religiously updating my site like I should be, I checked my Google analytics to see where I was ranking. Overall my site ranks about about 30. A LOT of my pages rank on the first page of Google for search terms I wasn't even targeting, but they are similar to the terms I was targeting. For example, I wrote a blog post on "chocolate milk facts." It ranks pretty high for "bad chocolate milk facts" and similar search terms.
So yes, WA does work. You just have to stick with it. Btw, if you're new here, I joined in February 2015. So my website is only about 3 or 4 months old, and it's already ranking pretty high. I never used those copy writing tricks most people recommend, like putting the keyword in your subtitles and it certain spots or having a keyword density of 1% or whatever. I make sure my keyword is in my title and in the first sentence of my blog post. Then I just write what I feel. I don't worry about it.

I do make sure my information is backed up by solid research, which I will link out to. I'm not just going to feed you a bunch of information without backing up my claims. I feel like if you can verify my information from other, more trustworthy sources, you're going to start trusting me. So I do use that as a tip: if you can, link out to a trustworthy source that supports your information.
Now for something completely different.
Lately I have been trying to switch away from copywriting to another form of work. Because I have always worked online I cannot see myself ever going back into the traditional workforce.
The reason for this is because I want to do something meaningful with my life. I'll be 31 in June and I want to make an impact on the world. A positive impact.
This isn't to say I'm giving up blogging. I'm not. I love my blog. I've been neglecting it because of life's circumstances but once I move away from copywriting I'll have time to blog more.
I think one of the reasons I don't blog as much as I want is because I am burned out on copywriting. I do it for a living. It's hard to find time to work on my blog after I finish filling orders for clients. So I need to find something else to do online that will allow me to work on my blog and support me in my efforts to change the direction my life is going in.
That's what I meant by "Enough is enough is enough." At 31 I finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I'm a late bloomer I think. And I know a lot of you have already been through this. But it's amazing what you can learn from the stuff that life throw at you. I just got up one morning and said "I can't be that person anymore. I just can't."
So now I'm switching gears. My mom says it's good to reinvent yourself every few years. I'm going to take her advice this time around.
