Hi WA family,
I am building my first website for my niche and now facing some difficulties.
I am building a website with my Own domain.
I have chosen a domain name

Good job for starting your website. Firstly you don`t need to register with Go Daddy or any other host service. Wealthy affiliate hosts your website for you. As for the error make sure there are no special characters like question marks, commas or brackets or anything else like that in your domain name. You can only have letters, numbers, dash and dots in your domain name. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can assist in any way.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your help and directions.

This is what you need to do to point your DNS servers here. There is nothing else you can do is you can't transfer a domain for 60 days but this will cover you

Have you pointed your name servers to WA

How or where do I do this ? Do you have step by step instructions for this please.

If you purchased your domain on go daddy and you want to build your site on WA you need to point your name servers to WA

Contact site support and they will tell you how to do it

Hi - WA only supports .com, or .net, or .org. Were you trying to use something different?

I typed in the domain name and did not include .com as the suffix.
So from your question, I am assume that I need to include the suffix in the domain name to make it work ? Thanks

Hi - Barry has made a good point below. Assuming you bought your domain at Go Daddy, have you pointed the nameservers here? You can't actually transfer the registration of a domain until 60 days have passed since you purchased it.

This sounds like chicken and egg scenario.
So for my understanding please,
1. I should firstly buy the domain name from Go daddy,
2. Point the name server to WA
3. Then create the webpage.

Correct ?

Sorry, I assumed you had already bought your domain from Go Daddy. If you have, then follow the guidance as indicated below by Catherine.

If you haven't yet bought your domain, then you can buy it here in WA if you wish.

I am happy to buy the domain in WA, however this wasn't covered in the training. How do i do that ? Do you have a set of instructions that i can follow please.

Hi - click on Websites at the top of the page, and go to Site Domains. Search for the name you are interested in, add it to the cart and purchase it at a cost of $13.99. Please make sure you spell it correctly, as a domain name cannot be changed.

Then, when you want to build your website, go to Site Builder and click on Domain I Own, and you should see your domain name listed, ready to use.
