How to spend less time as a technician:

This is what a technician does, spend less time doing these.

Delegate, eliminate, automate

1. Code websites

2. Design graphics, images, pictures

3. Programming

4. Maintain websites

5. Write articles

6. Search Engine Optimization

7. Social Media Management

8. Run softwares that are supposed to bring you traffic


Yes, you need the technician. But you are not the technician.

If you are an army of one, remind yourself to spend minimal time on technical things.


How to spend more time as an entrepreneur:

This is what an entrepreneur does:

1. Write sales copy for the website

2. Copywriting for the free emails that you give away in exchange for people subscribing to your list - emails that automatically get sent to people (called your email autoresponder service - like Aweber.com)

3. Copywriting on the email offers that you put on the email autoresponder

4. Copywriting on the articles that will be distributed by your SEO guy

5. Copywriting on the content that will be distributed by your Social Media Manager

6. Partner with other Entrepreneurs who have skills that you don't have - i.e. other entrepreneurs who know copywriting

7. Focus on building your business

8. Continous learning and growth on non-technician things


Why Most People Got It Backwards

Most people got it backwards because of internet marketing gurus telling them to do what gurus are doing right now. The thing is, you can't do everything that the gurus do - they already have the resources, credibility, connections, skills, expertise that it took them years to master.

You are different from the guru especially if you're still starting. What works for the guru might not be applicable for you in your early stages. You can use them for scaling up later but first yo need to start the cashflow going.

Most people got it backwards and they start from the top. This may not be for you when you're still starting and you may need to build the foundations first.

Most people try the $10,000 to $100,000 or more approach without even learning sales copywriting or without knowing that they need someone in their team who knows sales copywriting well.
