People are afraid for different reasons. When trying something for the first time, there is usually something inside them that creates a feeling of anxiety or fear. For some, i

Kevin my fear is me failing and not making my goals as I would like to.

I think fear of failure is a big one for most people. More often than not, being afraid to fail prevents people from trying. It's a strange psychological phenomenon that we all share:

"If I don't try, I won't fail"

Of course, the opposite is also true:

"If I don't try, I won't succeed"

Our brains are wired to recall past experiences as we attempt to predict what will happen in the future. And since trying something for the first time usually ends up in a less than perfect performance, we associate that experience with failure and are hesitant to try new things in the future.

The key is KNOWING that we will all fail at the margins of our experience - it's normal to not be good at things we've never done before. Once we get over that hurdle, accept the fact that it takes practice to get better, and hopefully have a good support system along the way - the FEAR of failure will turn into a EXCITEMENT to learn new things.

Thank you for your reply Theo!

Thank you for giving me great words of encouragement!!!!

My pleasure Theo! If it help you, it'll probably help your audience. Feel free to share this with anyone who you think will benefit from it!

I will do so brother!!!!

For me, I'm always afraid of being laughed at. It doesn't matter is I'm successful or not, it's just about how I look when I do it. I guess you could say I fear ridicule from my peers. Don't get me wrong, my friends are super supportive and I know it's all in my head. But I hesitate to try new things because I never know how it will be accepted by those I respect and admire.
