Course Two: Progress Blog
My progress in WA has been steady and satisfying. I feel that I am using a well thought out curriculum that will prepare me to competently operate a website.
I have learned at least something about the following:
WordPress basic operation
Domains and hosting
DNS settings
Redirects/forwarding, at least regarding WA email accounts
Images: where to find and how to add them to content
Blog comments: how to get and give
Key words, how to find and use
Low hanging fruit
Basics of writing content
Gravatars: basics of use
Social Media thru G+, totally new to me
My website is: mypackofdogs.com
Rather than blog about the care and feeding of dogs as many sites do, I have chosen to relate the true story of my dogs helping me to deal with a handicap, The story is actual, physical and perhaps even spiritual in its overview. As a journey for me and my dogs, it touches on the relationships and techniques used in our situation. At this time I am releasing weekly posts of the story in serial fashion. We are still near the beginning!
A success that took a while was getting thru the Gravatar set up. It is still a mystery to me why the Gravatar confirmation emails will not go to the WA email in boxes.
In the next three months my goal is to develop my website to the point of generating some revenue.
In the next six months my goal is to develop my site to the point of creating a steadily growing income.
Both goals would be concurrent with improving the site as a result of my increasing skill level
