Tibetan Saying
Just the other day, my friend What's App me about the secret to living well and longer. "Eat half. Walk double. Laugh triple and love without measure." I think there is a lot wisdom in this proverb.
We have been brought up to follow the habit of consuming 3 meals a day. We seldom question whether we really need to have the 3 meals. In our hectic work life, we may tend to eat a heavy dinner before retiring for the day. As we age, our metabolism slow down, so the large amount of carbohydrates when not put to good use will be stored as fat. If we could practice greater awareness in our eating habit (without having to count the calories) and try to "Eat half" or reduce our nightly food consumption, I am certain our body will be less stress and be in better shape.
Almost every smartphone nowadays will have an app(pedometer) on keeping fit which will track the number of steps as we walk. The standard recommendation is to do 10,000 steps a day. I don't know about you, to be honest, I never once made the 10,000 steps except on some weekend when I took my dog out for a long morning walk. "Walk double" could be a good suggestion to try out. I think if we can speed up the pace, or do brisk walking. This may be an alternative to consider.
"Laughing triple". There are many sayings that smiling or laughing more often will help to reduce stress. Laughing will also attractive positive energy and make us look younger and more likable. If you cannot find something to smile or have a good laugh, I recommend you to visit http://catsanddogshavefun.com/ from our fellow mmember T1967, Tania. Plenty of funny videos on dogs and cats to laugh your heart out.
Lastly, love without measure. This may be a little bit more difficult to practice. At times, when we do friends some favour, we expect them to remember. On occasions, when we need help, they may not be around and we are disappointed. If we can practice "Love without measure" which I believe is similar to compassion, we will lead a happier life. We must enjoy doing good deeds. We must try to forget who benefited and what good deed was being done.
I reckon this last proverb is the most important and beneficial to us. To live well and longer, look for opportunity to do this everyday. Btw, please visit the link to see a nice image on this at goo.gl/xiJ8Uq

That is great stuff Kelsey. I do pretty well with the laughing triple. I screw up so many times a day I have to laugh. And have friends that help with that too. But the eating half and walking double I fall way short on. I need to get on that!
Hi Tim, Glad you like the laughing part. Laughing will expand our lungs and make us healthier. Thanks. [Kelsey]
