Wordpress, So much to take in!

Wordpress is taking a little time to get used to for me. I'm pretty good with computers and websites, I've been using them since I was a young kid. However, building a site that is pristine in image is what's important to me. I know I'm going to upgrade eventually as I will want the .com, but I've decided to load up on some content first. I've devised a plan to write at least one part of my site a day until I have loads of content. Since it's all been so much to take in, I think in the long run this will be easier for me to do in steps each day. I figure in six months or less I'll have enough content to get the site up and running. Does anyone know the code or how to put links in a post? Links to other parts of your site? That would be great info for me right now as I'm building. :)
