A comfortable place

I've spent the bulk of my time writing, learning, creating, and communicating on my bed, lol. Lately I've been getting very uncomfortable and thinking that switching to my desktop would really help my creativity flow better. I wonder has anyone else seen a difference in their work based on where or how comfortable they are? Just a thought of mine!

I find I can't work properly unless I'm at a desk and sitting in an upright position. I've tried working with the laptop in my bed, but it just isn't the same. The more comfortable and focused you are, the better it'll be when you write your content!

Thanks everyone for all your support!

I have a side little "office setup" in my place with very minimal distractions. Helps tremendously to get things done. Far too easy for me to lose focus on the couch or in bed. Give it a try, can't hurt :)

I had my husband create a corner desk for my in our tiny guest room, a corner desk takes up less space and allows for a larger work area. There, I can tape up photos, inspirational pieces, my vision board and still have space to work. We bought 2 cheap file cabinets at Walmart & 1 sheet of plywood - works great and gives me a sense of being in my own "office", Makes me feel more professional and motivated.

I also own a corner desk. They really do take up less space.

I like a nice chair with good lighting to be creative!

Hi Kelly999. A stimulating mental space is more important than the physical space for me. This can be in a park, in bed (I often send off my unconscious mind to gather ideas whilst I sleep and jot them down on waking), after a journey etc. Cheers Phil

I too spend most all of my time on my bed, like now, when i am doing work with my laptop, mainly because of my living quarters & lack of better options.Anyway,i know from personal experience & studies, any kind of physical discomfort, from a 'numb tush' to a tooth or earache, will be a mental distraction. The mental distraction will interfere with your ability to think clearly, to focus, and to concentrate to a greater degree. So i believe, and know, that me,you, and most likely everyone else sees a difference in their work in regards to how comfortable we are.Good question & thanks for sharing Kelly.

My biggest distraction is having 4 cats that like lots of attention. Setting out each day with a determined attitude usually ends up being interrupted by at least one cat.
I need to start working somewhere in isolation to increase productivity because the cats like to help (but don't).

I have a cat also. Very distracting! lol

Yes! I just can't work on my bed in general, too comfy and I tend to get way too distracted by youtube, facebook etc etc. I need a desk with all the things I might need at hand so I don't need to get up. I feel a lot more work like this way.
