Does It All Boil Down to Keywords?

Although I am new to affiliate marketing, I have been studying a lot about it. I guess it's a bit of being overwhelmed and trying to weed through the crap that's out there. A few websites suggested that
1. Get a clicksense account
2. View ads until I make enough money to get pay for PTC ads
3. Get a youdata.com and hits4day.com
4. Get there referral ID and then put that link into the clicksense PTC ads.

So far I've done everything and am waiting for the results. I do enjoy that you can sign up for all these free websites and get paid $.02 a survey, but then it does start to get a little overwhelming just trying to keep up. I do keep an excel sheet with the referral links on there so I can just copy and paste it.

Another marketing idea I've come across is the Clickbank affiliate program. This is where you pick a product you want to sell, put it on a free website, like web.com and then sell it. However, because so many people are doing the same thing and most of those websites are scams, I really don't feel comfortable selling a product that I don't believe in. Plus I think it all comes down to adding the right queries.

Lastly, there is WA, which I do greatly appreciate the free lesson. But again it all comes down to keywords. I do have a blog on blogspot, so when they had me build a website from Wordpress, I ended modifying what I had on my blog. I also did the keyword searches and wrote down my top 25 keywords. However, I'm still not understanding how to make money off of this.

One thing I hate doing is referring links to my friends and families because I know they couldn't care less about online marketing. Most of them are old school and don't believe on making money on the internet, so I find it hard doing the "Earn Your First $50" training.

I do feel that I am closer to understanding the affilate marketing business because I have made a few dollars from various websites, mainly doing surveys. But I still think the marketing comes down to having the right keywords, no matter how bad the article is. I don't mind writing articles, I just don't understand the whole "getting you article on google's first page" aspect.

Maybe this topic should be my next website.

Yeah, it does essentially boil down to Keywords and content.
