Good traffic + hundreds of posts zero conversions?
Hey there, Wealthy Affiliate RockStars! I have a complex equation for you to help me solve today. Are you up for the challenge?
So, I own 10 different websites, 6 ofwhich are affiliate marketing sites.
My niches are basically:
- winter sporting goods
- health products
- ceramics and pottery
- make money from home
Today I'm going to discuss my make money from home niche website.
On this website, the main products I promote are:
- Wealthy Affiliate membership
- web hosting
- blogging products
- my own courses, ebooks
- services (graphic design, etc)
The website was established five years ago. There are over 200 blog posts on this website. The traffic averages between 30,000-45,000 page views per month. There are a lot of links back from other extremely well-known and authoritative websites. The website has a strong social media following of several hundred thousand.
I earn a steady monthly income off of this website from the following sources:
- Promoting Wealthy Affiliate
- Google Adsense
- Amazon Affilliates
- Impact Radius
- Share-A-Sale
- My own courses
- My own ebooks
- Zazzle
- Freelancing
- Sponsored blog posts
Sounds great, right?
Well, I just started really promoting WA about 2 months ago. Obviously I'm doing something right in showing 9 people the awesome benefits of starting a free trial. What casues things to fizzle out? What prevents them from wanting to stay with WA and go Premium?
This site has brought me nine WAreferrals total, none of which have gone Premium.
My auto-messaging is all set up, and is really good. I've had it reviewed by others.
So here's the riddle/equation for you to help solve, if you're up for it...
How do...
40,000 page views per month + Hundreds of blog posts + established for 5 years =
ZERO WA PREMIUM CONVERSIONS ?
(Sorry, I'm not ready to share my website name with you yet, but I will soon, I promise). :-)
I have gone through the training hereand have implemented all of the principles WA has taught us.
- What are your thoughts?
- What are YOURexperiences?
- Share your comments!
Even if you don't have suggestions, I really still want to hear from you!
***This isn't meant to be a negative or complaining post, just a legit meeting of the minds! :-) I LOVE Wealthy Affiliate and all the great resources here. And I will NEVER give up. :-)
Thanks!
Kelli Brink

I haven't actually started really promoting WA but my guess is that most people are just not committed enough to spend the money until they see the money and you can't get one without the other (in my opinion) . I have had one person take my advice and look at the WA but until they are really ready and really committed, I don't expect much to happen. I have no where near the experience or traffic you have and I haven't made a dime yet so this is just my opinion.
Here is my solution for you:
Sale skill = premium conversion, not visitors+posts+site age. These are just numbers.
All I can say is you might want to look at your sale funnel process. Something is not working correctly for you, or are targeting the wrong audience?
I can feel you, Kelli. I actually have over 30 starter members since April 2018, and NONE have gone premium, despite me following up with them, answering their questions, having my welcome message set up, even giving detailed information within my own FREE guide to making money online. I have probably had 2 or 3 people sign up within the month of August 2018, so it really slowed down, but I am also not giving up. I think it's just a number's game. We should never give up because our business could be exploding soon. We don't want to be the ones who give up inches from finding gold.. :)
Keep it up. The sales will come.

Your site's focus isn't about a side gig like Wealthy Affiliate. That's not the reason people are coming to your site, and while they may check it out, they aren't there to find/buy something like that. They came to learn about hosting or blogging. You may need to tie WA into one of the blogging posts as a way to learn to monetize your blog, But shoehorning in another topic into a solid existing site is never a good idea.
Interesting! Thanks for the feedback. Just curious, did you go check out my website? I don't have it listed, but it's easy to find I find you look in my social media on my profile.
You're right, I started my blog 5 years ago without a niche. I just blogged about whatever was on my mind. Mostly sharing recipes with my readers.
Then it evolved into ways to save money, which my readers loved. I was actually featured in Woman's Day Magazine for my money saving ideas.
Then it led into side hustles and making money from home. And now I heavily work the topic of Wealthy Affiliate into all of those posts.
I thought that was fitting way for my site to evolve. Do you think it's not? What should I do? I've got such a great, established blog, with fantastic traffic. Do I not promote WA on it? Start a new website from scratch and work to get traffic?
Thanks for your feedback! :-)
With all those changes, Google isn't sure what your site is about anymore. You may have high traffic numbers, but they aren't engaged, so they aren't doing you much good. I'd back off on including WA into every post. Get back to your roots, which is probably where you're ranking - saving money, and side gigs, etc. There are so many other things that can be side gigs besides WA. Giving people only one choice will always perform worse. Check out Michelle Schroeder-Gardner to see it done amazingly well.
thanks! I totally agree! im reshaping things as we speak :-)
