To Infinity and Beyond!
Almost 4 months ago I started with an idea of what I wanted to do with my life. I dreamt that I would one day become this work from home Dad with the possibility to be around my son, with a daughter on the way, 24/7. After spending a little over 2 months time researching how affiliate marketing works I hit dead end after dead end. That doesn't mean that I didn't learn things in the process. I learned how to sniff out horrible leads from good ones, how to tell a good site from a bad, how to hone my design skills into making a decent website (even though I had no idea how to start), and I learned that I was not alone in finding dead ends.
Once I found this community I have spent more time learning rather than developing. Taking the time to understand the pitfalls and pot holes that comes with learning a work from home job. There are hours you sit scratching your head wondering if your next post will be the one that brings in the traffic. Or, my favorite, thinking "Will this ever really work?"
I haven't had the pleasure of "pure" success yet but I can say that I have learned more in the past month and a half than I did when I spent time doing it on my own. I'm still in the process of building and learning but I feel that somewhere around the bend there is a silver lining. That the traffic will one day flow to my site bringing me the goal I have set for myself. I personally am not worried about making a 6 figure salary, although it would be nice, but to make enough so I can stay at home with my wife and kids would be AMAZING!
I have seen the small trickles from friends and families going to my site, justbeageek.com, to peruse the articles that have seeped from the inner workings of my mind. I have also seen my site grow from a blank page with background code to a somewhat full fledged site. However, I haven't seen my goal come to fruition but does that scare me? NO!!!
I spoke with Kyle a few days before signing my name on the dotted line and jumping all in here at WA. He said to me that it would take time and perseverance. That it would/could take me several months of me betting down the keyboard one stroke at a time to get where I wanted. To pick a goal and let it be my driving force. All I need to do to see that goal is watch my 3 year old come to me and say "Daddy, I wish we could play more."
There are times I get discouraged but I remind myself that there is an infinite amount of possibilities, as long as I'm willing to strive to make it happen! So here we are, and here I go. Until my keyboard no longer works and my wallet is empty I will continue on until my son actually says to me with a sleepy smile on his face "Daddy, I can't play anymore today I'm way to tired". So here is to my , and the many colleagues I have here, success!
To Infinity and Beyond my dear colleagues!

This is a really nice post. Thanks for sharing. I know how that feels like. After a few months at WA, I was able to quit my 9-year job just so I could stay at home and be there for the kids. So, I wish you all the best and keep up the good work!
Thank you I appreciate the kind words! I will keep chugging along like the little engine who could. I know I will make it just have to keep my eye on the prize! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!
