About KDippel
Joined February 2015
Hi friends! I am brand new to the WA community and excited to learn more about this process and building my own business. I have been working as an Apparel Designer for over 10 years. I love what I do but need to supplement my income for our growing family. I would also love to be able to one day be my own boss, spend more time with family and not be "location restricted".

I understand that this opportunity will be what I make of it and how much work I am willing to put in. I'm excited to start and see how things unfold!

Hi K, I read your profile and we seem to have similar interests! I am (on my own) an interior designer and also a fashion coordinator!! What I mean by on my own, is I use my skills strictly for my family and friends but have always loved doing it! Now I would like to represent a furniture manufacturer or store and later on a website dedicated to clothing and accessories. I know what I want to do but still have not learned how to go about getting someone to let me represent them on my website! Would you mind sharing your ideas with me for your website? Maybe we can help each other!!! Thx for following me. Margot Now I know what K stands for!! Hi Kimberly!!

Hi Margot! So great to meet you. We definitely have many interests in common! I love your passion for color. When I start planning out my color palettes for a season and get into the "mode", I feel like all I see are color combos! Do you follow any color blogs? I have a few that I like if you interested!

I have finally decided upon my niche this week. I have been working as a fashion designer for over a decade and now that I have many experiences under my belt and my own story, I feel that I can help others break into this field as well. I want to create a website that is based on helping people get started, give tips and advice on everything from choosing a school, to networking, computer design tips, portfolio, do and don'ts, and the list goes on! I have a lot of high school and college age people ask me all the time what the best way is to break in. I also want to give them the low down on the reality of working in this industry good and bad so they can have realistic expectations before paying a large tuition at a big fashion school. I could go on but you get the jist of it! :-)

I would love to chat more with you!

You sound so together--congrats! I know what my niche "Interior Decor" is and have made a list of sub niches. But I just don't know yet how to get this onto a website or on Amazon!! Do you? I'm sure I'm jumping the gun but I'm so excited!!!!

Oh gosh! I don't feel all together haha. I'm sure that makes most of us though! I think interior decor is such a wonderful niche! I have zero training in it and am not the greatest at it but I absolutely love it. It's hard to narrow down into a specific thing about it! One site that I love and I feel like it addresses a common issue is Apartment Therapy. Having lived in many apartments over the yers it offers all types of solutions to "apartment design problems". There is a section (I apologize if I'm telling you something you already know!) for small spaces which I have used so many times when I lived in tiny studios.

That's just one idea I thought of in terms of establishing a niche within a niche. Maybe even a design blog of inspiration and ideas that you personally love? Design Milk has some great content. Definitely very broad but could lend some ideas? Both websites have ads of them which is a good sign :-)

You are so sweet! Thanks, I think I've narrowed my niche down to "Decorating Accessories". That way I won't have to worry about everything in the house but I will touch on what a room might need to bring it together and look attractive! What do you think?

I love it!! Personally speaking I just realized how important this is and what it can do to a room for not much money which is amazing. I think it could help a lot of people on a budget and even with tons of cash to spend. That is really cool! I can't wait to hear how it goes for you!

I need to start my website now, so we will see how that goes! A lot of ahead but I'm excited.

Hey Kimberly, great to have you here. I felt the same way when I was starting out, looking for an opportunity to supplement my income.

To be honest with you, there is no better way to do this than within the online world and you have absolutely everything you need here at WA to do this (including the support channels).

Just thought I would pop in and say hi and simply drop me a reply if you need a hand with anything moving forward.

PS. I hope you are having an awesome week so far!

Hi Kyle! I posed this question to Frank above and I would love your take on this as well... thank you so much!

I have picked my niche and have been working through the lessons. So far my biggest challenge is making solid blocks of time to work on everything. I do have one question regarding my website... being that my niche had to do with fashion design and my targeted audience are very visual I believe that my website should be very aesthetically pleasing and not skimp on "beauty". (Obviously the content has to be strong but if the visuals don't impress I feel that it would be discouraging to my niche group). That being said, I am thinking that I need to host my own domain instead of being restricted by certain templates and so forth.

Do you have any advice on this? Thank you! Kimberly

Yes, that may be the best idea. If you want to host your own domain and have access to over 3,000 different themes, you will be able to do so within the Premium membership here.

At the end of the day though you want your theme to be simple and your content and images you use within your content can be aesthetically pleasing. I do think that you should be very visual with your content though as you build it out, people in the fashion industry are very interesting in seeing.

Welcome Kimberly, to Wealthy Affiliates and thanks for accepting my invitation to check it out.

There's a lot to learn here, the best place to start would be the level 1 certification course. So start with the first lesson by clicking on the link below.

Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started (Level 1)

Be sure to create a profile and add a picture, that way you'll get lots of help from all the peeps in WA. You'll find out how to do this in the getting started link above.

Sadly some people don't even get this far, for some unknown reason.

If you can do this, (i.e.) follow simple instructions, (implementing as you go), soon you will be on your way to making your first sale.

And don't forget that you can also access me for 1-on-1 support by leaving a message on my profile https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affilicoach or by private message if you are a premium member.

There are a ton of other features you have access to right now, but they are explained in your main training linked above. Your #1 job right now is to get to lesson 1!

★ ★ ★ Access Your Bonuses! ★ ★ ★

I also wanted to let you know that if you join the premium membership in this 7 day window you'll get a TON of awesome stuff from me.

First off, you'll get a 59% discount ($19.95 for 1 month) on your membership. Twenty bucks for you first month of WA is an absolute steal.

☆ ☆ Bonus #1: Live Case Study 2 Part Webinar Series

Get access to a 2-Part-Series Live Case Study webinar. It's video series where a professional internet marketer creates a complete 'niche website'. All steps are included and thoroughly explained, including research, rank, content creation and monetization. Total length of the videos is 2+ hours

This will give you a broad overview of the type of site you will create on Wealthy Affiliate. I think it's always a good idea to know the direction you are headed before you start your journey.

Please feel free to ask questions in the community through live chat or the Getting started classroom above. Or as I mentioned before, hit me up anytime you want in WA.

Anyway, I know you'd be eager to have a browse around so I'll let you get your feet wet.

Best of luck, and don't forget you can always ask me for help!

Best,
Frank
