How to transfer a domain name to WA from Go Daddy

I had to go to Go Daddy to purchase a .ca domain as it wouldn't allow me to do so through Site Rubix (said Unsupported TLD).

You have to wait 60 days to do the transfer and it's not complicated but can take up to 10 days.

Thanks this was helpful. I have to wait 60 days though as the domain is new. : )

Thank you very much for this info. I registered my domain name months ago using GoDaddy. This helps me with figuring out how to transfer that to a website I'll start building here.

Take care and be well.

Donna

You can't transfer the registration of a dot ca domain name to WA because it's an unsupported TLD. If you can't register it here then you can't transfer the registration.

You don't have to wait to have your website hosted here. Just change the DNS (Domain Name Servers).

Thanks Marion....but I'm confused now...
Are you saying I can still use the .ca domain name even though I can't transfer it to WA?
I.E. there is still a way for me to build a website in WA associated with my .ca domain name but its through changing the DNS settings, not transferring the name?

Yes. Just change the nameservers (DNS) to point to WA using the links I gave you above. The domain name registrar does NOT have to be the same as the hosting company. I have almost all my domain names registered at WA but I have most of them hosted elsewhere.

Thanks for this information.
