Today I Made a Mistake

Today I made a mistake.

It wasn’t a huge, earth-shattering mistake. In fact, it was something small and seemingly insignificant — but it hit me hard. I forgot to post an important update on a client’s social media account. It slipped through the cracks, and when I realized it, my stomach dropped. That familiar wave of panic, guilt, and self-doubt rushed in.

For a few minutes, I spiraled into the usual thoughts: “What if she fires me?”What if this ruins my reputation?”What if I’m just not cut out for this?

But then something shifted.

As I sat with that uncomfortable feeling, I realized that this wasn’t just about a missed post. It was about something much deeper — something that so many of us as entrepreneurs, freelancers, and creators face: the fear of losing control over our own lives.

💡 The Lesson Hidden Inside the Mistake

That gut-punch moment revealed something I hadn’t fully acknowledged: I was terrified because a single client’s reaction could affect my income, my stability, and my peace of mind.

And that realization lit a fire in me.

I decided right then and there that I never want my survival tied to someone else’s decision again. I never want my peace to be at the mercy of a mistake or another person’s approval.

This wasn’t just about a forgotten post — it was a wake-up call.

🔥 A Turning Point, Not a Breakdown

Instead of letting the mistake define my day, I chose to let it redefine my path.

I reminded myself:

  • I choose to build a life where no one else holds the power over my peace.
  • I’m not working to please someone else — I’m building something that makes me unfireable.
  • My future is too important to be left in anyone else’s hands.

These weren’t just affirmations — they became my new non-negotiables. They are now printed on my walls, taped to my laptop, stuck on my fridge, and pinned where I see them every single day. They remind me that mistakes are not setbacks. They’re messages. And sometimes, those messages are exactly the push we need to step into our next level.

🚀 The Takeaway for Fellow Entrepreneurs

If you’ve ever felt that panic after a mistake — the kind that makes you question everything — I want you to hear this: you’re not alone, and you’re not failing. That moment is a teacher.

Mistakes have a way of exposing where we’re still handing over our power. And once you see it, you can’t unsee it. From there, you get to choose differently.

  • Choose to build systems that support your business.
  • Choose to create offers and income streams that you own completely.
  • Choose to build something that no one else can take from you.

Because the truth is, mistakes don’t ruin us — staying small because of them does.

Today’s mistake could have ruined my day. But instead, it became the spark that reminded me of why I’m here: not just to serve others, but to build an empire that gives me freedom, peace, and power.

And if one small mistake can trigger a shift this big in me, maybe it can do the same for you too.

I have made a list of power statements that I have now printed and stuck above my laptop in my work station, in my bathroom right next to the toilet - on a list as I walk out my front door and also above my coffee machine. If you would like a copy, I am attaching a link for you to download so you can remind yourself why you are working towards freedom from an 9-5, that runs (ruins) your life and gives someone else power over your finances.

Stop the hamster wheel now.

Mistakes are all part of the learning process my friend!!!

As long as we have learnt something... then just move forward and don't make the same mistake again! :-))

Mistakes are the ultimate learning opportunity. If you do not ever make them, you loose the chance to learn from them.

Mistakes are GOING to happen. Its how we learn and grow. Having the right attitude afterwards will determine your future success or failure.

We learn through mistakes. Nothing is that important that it is worth sacrificing your mental health. I think you have the right attitude. Learn and then move on.
