Procrastination.

Have you ever felt like you were that overwhelmed by looking at starting something, that you keep putting it off? Pushing the thoughts of you physically doing the task, out of your mind? So you don't have to actually get stuck in & get the job done?

You know what I mean, don't you? We're all guilty of doing it, just to what degree? That's the question, really, isn't it? You know that the (whatever), has to be attended to, however, for whatever reason, you couldn't make the first move to get it off and running.

Sometimes the task at hand is seemingly endless, it's finding the right place to start, that's after all the first major hurdle that needs facing. Once you have a place to start, it's just a natural progression from there to get the situation sorted.

I have one of my five sons, (yes, I did say 5), E, the one in the middle, he's looking to get a part-time job. He, like his two younger brothers, have been diagnosed with ASD/ADHD/ADD. He has an interesting view of what getting a job looks like for him, he believes he can simply walk in, ask for a job, then automatically be given it.

What's this crazy woman going on about, what's this got to do with procrastination, I hear you ask?

Don't you just wish, getting a job, WAS THAT SIMPLE? We all know that there are many things that challenge us, when it comes to finding, not just a job, but rather, a job you can really rely on & one that'll keep you from going insane. Is it any wonder why we start to put it off? The whole process is completely and utterly outside most people's comfort zones. Many people are all vying for the same job, and when you don't have much experience, you have little chance of actually getting it.

Sometimes, just sometimes, would it be possible to gain a little experience? If only someone would employ you? That way you'll be able to get the experience that they're after. Kinda a catch 22, isn't it?

This's where procrastination comes into play. You could sit around twiddling your thumbs, procrastinating, or, you can put yourself out there & keep trying, despite the facts.

Me, I'm thinking differently. I'm now creating a job for myself. Bypassing any obstacles that's in my way. Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate I've now got everything I need to be successful.

Hi, Kassy! I feel your pain. Not with 5 but with 3. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I wrote a blog on procrastination that I am turning into an eBook. Here is the link. Keep pushing forward! Dave.

Thanks Dave,
You're right, it's all about taking each day as it comes.
There's definitely days that are better than others. I'm sure there are? Even though I know it's going to, supposedly, get easier, it's sometimes hard to find the light at the end of the tunnel, when you're living in the moment.
I am, however, going to make the most of everything I learn from WA, giving me a way, no, the BEST way supporting my family legitimately.
All the best in your endeavors,
K.

I agree Kassy. I find myself doing all sorts of related stuff except what I should be doing! But I'm trying to catch myself at it these days, and get on with more productive stuff. Good luck with your endeavours ;)

Hi Carol, I am now following you. I wrote a blog on procrastination that might be helpful. Dave.

Hey Carol,
I have to admit, I'm guilty of doing that too. I'll be doing research on one thing, only to find I've been side tracked for the better part of an hour or more. Like you, I have been catching myself, sooner rather than later, thank goodness.
Good luck with your journey with WA,
K.
