Mind Space - The Duh Moments
Do you ever sit down at your desk or your computer and in the moments before you get there you know what needs to be done but then .... when you actually sit down to get started you just stare? I call these 'mind space' moments, or 'duh moments'.
I actually just had one a few moments ago as a matter of fact. No time like the present to share that huh? I was on my way home from dropping off a rental car (and sneaking a quick bit to eat at McDonalds) and I was thinking to myself "when I get home I need to get X,Y, and Z done". Sadly though, by the time I reached my desk and went to place my fingers on the keyboard, my mind just went clean blank.
I can't even say I had actually forgotten what it was I was going to do or if maybe my mind just needed a moment to be alone, lol. Either way there I was ... with no clue what I was supposed to be doing at that very moment. Heck, I probably sat there like that for a good five minutes or more. Not thinking about a dang thing. Just staring at my desk calendar. Where do moments like that come from anyways?
When I finally snapped out of it, the only thing I wanted to do from that moment was write about it. So, here I am ... doing just that. Is this how author's get inspired? Ha, I wouldn't think so but who knows right? I still know exactly what I need to do but now it can wait until I'm doing writing this article. Is this why I don't always get my daily checklist done? Or at least don't get it done before my day technically should end for the business day?
I like to consider myself a good time management keeper. I'm super organized, and if it wasn't for checklists I'd probably be a mess. I have checklists written, checklists in my head, on my phone, sticky notes, wherever something hits me that I need to do, whatever is nearest to me, that's where it goes. That's how I knew I needed to get X, Y and Z done when I got home.
Some might say this article is a ramble, a pointless article that in the few short minutes it takes you to read it you may very well could have done something far better. But I still felt the need to write it. Now I feel better and can carry on. So if I held you up, gosh I'm sorry, but you DID opt to read the article lol. And if I didn't or even gave you a reason to chuckle, then GREAT! Glad I could help.
I shall carry on with my day now and check of my X, Y and Z and end my day exactly how I set out to do, just maybe a little later than it was supposed to be.
Have a fantastic day successful people!
~Much Love~
