Cannot double space in WordPress

Hello everyone. Whenever I change my fonts to anything other than Paragraph, double spacing doesn't work. I went into Text, and copied and pasted the "space code" in WordPress, but it goes back to single space again when I go back to my website. The theme I chose has a small paragraph font.
Wondering if I should just keep my content in Paragraph mode.
I appreciate any help you can give me.
