My View Of WA In The 2 Days I've Been A Starter Member
Hey everyone Akmol here :) thought I'd share my 2 days worth of experience with everyone.
The Boring Part
Starting off let me share some information about myself :). I'm 25 years old from London and currently studying Business Management in Uni. I've previously been employed in my local council for around 2 and half years as an apprentice and have worked in the private sector for a driving school. I didn't do as well as the teachers predicted while I was in school due to issues I was having outside school. But I have no regrets :D
What initially got me interested in starting my own business was so many people of high education (and very well off business men) telling me from a young age to do what I love since as you get older you realise working for other people doesn't make you happy (this was told to me over and over again xD like some kind of drill xD) and every time I tried pursuing what I loved responsibilities would weigh me down. I kept thinking yeah I have time I can still do whatever I want. But then certain things happened for me to realise that everything all this well established men have told me time and time again is all true.
1st thing that happened was I got laid off in work while I was in the council. The way they did it was what you'd call within the council procedures as an 'Unfair Dismissal' as their base reason wasn't good enough and they skipped many procedures when kicking me out. This all happened because I spoke out against certain things the council was doing and my manager's manager heard (who reports directly to the HR Department Head) which resulted in me being pressured and eventually being dismissed. At that time one of my sisters was having marriage issues whilst I was having issues in preparing for my marriage. Basically best way to say it...I was getting kicked while I was down xD (wow this is so depressing but don't worry there is light at the end xD). I understand why they did what they did and in all honesty I have no hard feelings, I was an apprentice and certain employees were getting pressured who have wife and kids to think about, it's all good :).
The 2nd situation that occurred (most recently) involved a close friend of mine and in a nutshell wasn't so serious but I understood that even if your helping out your friends in running their business, family will always come first for them. It's cool though since I understand. I left that place aswell because I cannot tolerate double standards. No regrets :P.
The Not So Boring Part
So after all this I looked around for work while doing my uni assignments and focusing on my other platform which I've been involved with over a year ago and whilst looking for ways to make referrals on the other program I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliates. I've looked at Wealthy Affiliates before but wasn't sold till I saw Lou's article on it (thanks a bunch man) and decided I'll be a premium member before I even signed up :D the benefits of Premium is too good xD.
But I wanted to test how far and how much I can learn in the 7 days I get for free as a Starter Member. In all honesty I'm already sold within the 2 days I've been using this program xD but I really aim to see how much I can progress in under 7 days.
The Aim
I wrote this blog so that all new members who join can see from a genuine person who has only been part of the Wealthy Affiliates program what exactly WA is as a Starter Member...and if they have doubts, those doubts can be cleared.
Wealthy Affiliates Is Not A Get Rich Quick Scheme
Nor is it anything like those programs which promise you will become rich with the least amount of effort required. From my experience thus far, it feels more like a place where you have access to all kinds of business related knowledge and also helps in creating the correct mentality as an entrepreneur. I really really like that :D because it's more realistic and feasible (I prefer the truth even if it hurts than a lie to save my feelings).
My Progress So Far
In the 2 days that I've been part of Wealthy Affiliates I created my first ever website :D and the amount of information I gleaned from just the 10 lessons that come as a Starter Member is priceless. Just building a website alone can require a massive learning curb but damn I learnt that in a day!! I can't wait to learn more!!
I really was amazed when Kyle contacted me (next day Carson contacted me O.O like who dude) since I've had experience before when someone helps me introducing me to a program but then just leaving me to fend for myself without actually teaching me or helping me in any way. Believe me this is a big deal for me xD.
So far I've enjoyed using WA and I am even more sold than before I joined this program and decided to go premium!
I wrote all this because I know a lot of people can relate to my experiences as above (new aswell as old members) and this 'review' is as genuine as it gets since I am a 2 day old member :D thank you all for taking the time to read all this :D really appreciate it (finally went through my essay xD you can call this Lesson 10.1 :P)
