Currently reside about 10 miles inland in San Diego, California area, about 15 miles North of Mexico. Am 69. Officially retired but only because getting hired at this age is not viable. Once a heavy duty computer/systems development techie and manager guy, then the engineering partner in a small electronics company. Am still considered by my friends a bit of a techie, but essentially have been mostly non-technical this century. So this century I have had lots of odds "careers" such as realtor, roofing sales, litigation support, "privileged" court file research in support of judgment collection, living trust seminars/sales, and more. As such, I am now a pretty good face-to-face salesman/closer--not, however, a marketing specialist.
But, as I've known from my college days, good marketing and lead generation is of paramount importance to all business success since they precede sales. No sales, no business! My expressed belief for at least 20 years is "don't create it, unless you can sell it!"
Got interested in IM because I was researching internet and social media pre-marketing and marketing in order to do a few technical Kickstarter projects. Haven't ever done social media for a variety of reasons part of which is that much of my life, low- or no-profile, was part of my job/business requirements. Now, WA represents a re-focus though I am still proceeding with Kickstarter ideas, but believe IM per se is a viable possibility for me.
I've been scouting/trying out possible business ideas for a while. My mandatory criteria are: durability, scaleability, low-required capital, and age-independence. Location independence, home-based or low commute, etc. are desirable, but not mandatory. IM clearly, fits all of these criteria.
Am usually called BOB and may switch to JustBob for WA purposes.
