Pinterest is working!
I continue to be amazed by Pinterest. I started learning about pins and boards and all their weirdness in January of this year, and its been fun. I can even see where it could be addicting. But the training here with social media got me back to Pinterest and, long story short, I purchased a tailwind account and starting looping pins and basically going crazy with pinning - just because its so easy and fun.
So now, about a month into this I see I have 979 followers and 27.1 thousand monthly viewers! My site traffic is going up and I'm starting to see increasing income from all this. I'm not posting this to brag or boast - life is too short for that! I just want my friends here to look seriously at Pinterest as a free traffic source. I'm here to tell you that I'm seeing it working.
Also important to me is the fact that my SEO skills are, how shall I describe them..... infantile?! I am beginning to see a tiny amount of SEO driven search traffic, which is encouraging and it tells me I'm headed in the right general direction. However, the push that social media is providing, specifically Pinterest, is really surprising and exciting.
Tailwind is a little 'busy', esp since I've got so many other things to learn and limited time. But, it sure has caused a spike.

This Pinterest graph is from our Florida native plants and plant/animal ecosystems site. Using Tailwind, even in my newbie way, has tripled my traffic in a very short time. I have individual pins now that reach 5-6k views in a week or two. I think that if you are active and start by following lots of people and repining, it mushrooms. Really surprised and pleased.
Newbie here, that's awesome! I totally forgot about using Pinterest as another way to get more site traffic!!
Yes, I have FB, Twitter and Insta accts, but I decided early on that with limited time, I would choose one and focus on it. FB is annoying to me so I chose Pinterest. So glad I did!
