Replacing the WordPress Icon in your Browser Tab

Well turns out since I haven't been here three months I can't post any training blogs but this is something I've noticed with dozens of websites (including several of Kyles) and with the newest updates to WordPress it's quite easy to put your own picture in place of the WordPress one and really adds a lot to your website :) When I see the WordPress icon I think of the website as a work in progress in the beginning stages.

So without further ado here we go! Sadly I can't add the pictures I took to give you screenshots! :(

Step 1: Go to your User Dashboard and Select "Appearance" then click "Customize"

Step 2: In your Customize Menu click "Site Identity"

Step 3: Here you'll see an option to upload an image. Select the image you want for your logo and upload it

Step 4: Click "Save and Publish"

And you're done! :) If you have any questions or feedback post a comment below :D

Yay, thank you so much! This has been on my to-do list since I started my site. I definitely hated that standard wordpress image up in the tab. That was so easy I wish I had found this post earlier. Thanks again!

I'm happy it could help! I wish it were included in the training because it's so easy!

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask! :)

It could be the Wordpress theme you're using. Do you know if you have the latest version of Wordpress? This might be another resource that can help you http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-a-favicon-to-your-wordpress-blog/

Hi, I couldn't locate 'Site Identity' when I went to Appearance > Customize. What I see is customizing options for my theme. Please advise. Thanks.

Ok thanks for the tip! Now I just have to figure out which picture to use to make me look like I KNOW what I'm doing!!! Lol!!!

You're welcome :) Thanks for reading! If you need any help don't hesitate to ask :)
