It's all about the benjamin's!
I will not sugar coat it and I'm sure many reading this will relate to what I am about to say.
When I got into online blogging, building websites, affiliate marketing, etc., it was all about the Money! Hey, I was all about making some stacks as I attempted to get my side hustle on. I knew that it would take time before I could expect to see any real results as it was necessary to get educated, and trained on the many what's and how's of online marketing.
Fever
What I was not prepared for was the fever that ensued. Now that I was introduced to this brand new online world of marketing. My eyes were open to a slew of other opportunities, and avenues of making money online, along with the different tools needed to grow your business. I had some extra cash and so I did what any sane person would do. I spent it hoping I would find wealth easier, faster.
I remember stories about the early American settlers and the gold rush of the mid 1800s. People left their homes, family, sold their property and traveled hundreds and thousands of miles over rugged terrain and through wilderness just to get to California. They called it Gold Fever. Today in the marketing world it's called OOO-SHINY!
Focus
Here's a bit of old school wisdom. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush. Better yet if you have a dozen things you're working on, you don't have a focus. I allowed myself to get so scattered, stretched, and confused that I couldn't remember what it was that I was supposed to be doing.
Here's a Tip!
You can have the perfect program and by all the tools you need to succeed, but they won't do you any good if you don't know how to use them. Focus on one thing!
It's like when Luke Skywalker goes to the planet Dagobah to meet Yoda to complete his training. (Yes, I just went Star Wars on you) He interrupted his training and left because he couldn't focus. He kept sensing his friends were in trouble. Now Yoda didn't know if he would return because Luke was headed for a dangerous showdown and he had not completed his training.
Fortunately things worked out for Luke and the good guys won.
Fight
How much fight do you have in you? I am pretty stubborn and't give up easily. But just being stubborn isn't enough, and it certainly doesn't mean you won't fail or get your butt kicked.
You have to apply some knowledge or wisdom to your actions. A boxer doesn't get into the ring without first training. He has to learn how to throw punches, counter punches, and how to protect himself. And one of the most important things a boxer has to learn is how to conserve his energy.
Are you currently expending a bunch of energy and feeling like you are getting nowhere? I have been there along with many others. The important thing is don't give up stay in the ring keep learning and keep swinging because your dreams are worth it.
I may not be where I want to be right now, but I know that the big payoff is coming if I .......
just stay in the fight!
