A Little Side Trip- Questions & Reviews
Today I took a little side trip off the regular path I have been traveling on. I decided to answer some of the members questions if I was able to. As I am a fairly new member myself I was thankful for some of the questions that were asked. A few of them were questions that I had myself. I was surprised that I actually could answer some of the new members questions and that made me feel good. As each day comes I feel that I am learning more and starting to become acquainted to some of the members by their questions as well as their answers.
I also decided that I would do a few reviews of other members web sites that were given to me to view and write a review about. This proved to be interesting and also a learning experience. I was able to see how other members web sites looked and how they read. It has given me new insight of how to improve my web site. As I navigated along their web site I was able to see how other people viewed a web site. I was able to see where things were missing, such as the content on a topic as well as how a page was worded.
How To Give Reviews and Why We Need Them
When giving a review it is very important to be honest and truthful of what you see and how it reads. You really can't help someone improve their web site if you don't give them a honest review. We all like to have people rave with a positive review about how they liked our web site, but we don't really like it when we get a negative response review. However when we look at what they tell us in their review, it can very well help us improve our site.
I find that reviews are very helpful and a necessity to every web site. Seeing what other readers see and listening to their views and opinions are very important. They see and read things that we miss, such as the wording or how a page looks to them. These things may seem right to us, but to others it gives the opposite effect. Sometimes when we ask friends or family to view our web site, they don't always tell you what they really think of it. Some of them are afraid of making you mad at them for telling you that it isn't that good. That is why it is so important to give honest and truthful reviews about a web site. When we review a site we need to be honest with how we feel about it.
Giving a review is not about bashing or tearing one apart in our report, it's about telling our views and helping them to improve their site. Along the way I know there will be some that will not like a negative viewpoint on something. They will need to come to understand that it was given with a positive reason, that being to help them improve their web site, not making them feel bad about it.
Everyone here at WA are more than willing to review and write a review about a members web site. Our goal is to help improve as well as educate someone on how their web site comes across to a viewer. Each and everyone of us here, me included want to help our fellow members to be successful with their business. We want to see each other excel in our online business. This is one of the reasons we are willing to give each other honest reviews,
I know that I welcome any comments whether they are good or whether they are bad. I can't improve something if I do not know there is something wrong with it. I may look at my site and think it is good, while others may look at it and say it isn't. That is why being a member at WA is such a benefit. Everyone of us here are not afraid to tell someone if their web site reads or looks wrong. There are a lot of seasoned members that will willingly help a new member with their web site because they already have a successful online business and have been at the starting line so to speak. They know what it takes and how to do it to be successful and are willing to tell you how to do it too.
So when giving a review on a fellow members web site, please be honest and truthful. By doing this you will help them in the long run to be successful. They can't fix something if they don't know that it needs fixed, so an honest review will benefit them in the end.
