Event Vs Process

Hello there,

Today I wanted to talk to you about something important that has been repeated millions of times.

The event is the final result you want now while the process is the the hard work we all want to avoid.

Even in real life we tend to avoid hard work, we all want fast results without a lot of efforts. We want shortcuts, and shortcuts cost us money.

Let's take the example of weight loss pills, those are seen everywhere. Doctors say this special pill will make you look like a super model in just few weeks whether you exercise or not. In reality they are selling the event and not the process. The dream of looking thin vs the nightmare of sweating everyday at the gym.

They know people want fast results without suffering at the gym to get the results they want, so they take advantage of that to sell you event driven products.

When you go out with your wife/husband to eat in a restaurant and find the food amazing, the product you have in front of you is the event while the baking is the process.

People tend to praise events while it is more logical to praise processes. But process doesn't sell.

In business, it is exactly the same. What gurus sell you are the dream of having great sports cars and fast results while they hide all the process part that is a tideous journey full of frustration, failures and sleepless nights.

As you already know, you have to work hard and you have to focus on the process and not the event. Prepare yourself to be frustrated, prepare yourself to lose money, prepare yourself to sleepless nights and prepare yourself to your future success.
