Music or Silence? How Do You Like It?
It's a rainy and dreary Friday and I am sitting here, eating rice cakes and editing content on my MMO site. As I was writing earlier, I had a thought...it was too quiet in the room and Chance was watching me from the bed.
Needed something to change the atmosphere in the room when I was working.
So, I thought a little bluesy, jazz may do the trick. I turn on Pandora and set it to my favorite station and off I went back to work on my articles.
Listening to my favorite tunes set the mood for me to accomplish a great deal of re-writing. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed listening to music while writing, doing any other type of work around the house and even going for a walk around the neighborhood with Chance.

No I definately like it quite. I am not a fan of a lot of noise at anytime. Crazy i guess the older I get the quiter I like it. Lol I even have a quite dog that rarely barks. Makes no noise at all except when he needs to go out, then all he does is a quite whimper. Perfect for me.
I enjoy quiet time as well, but only when I'm ready to go to sleep or if I've had a bad day. Then I go into be quiet solitude.

Hi Barbara,
If there is noise of any kind while I am writing, it tends to break up my thought pattern (easy to do nowadays)
Although my wife can have the TV on in the living room on low volume and it is ok. But music and direct conversation during writing won't work for me.

Hi Greg,
Although Sue helps with ideas and some reviews, she too goes along a different line of niches. We both prefer quietness to a lot of chatter and or other noise.

When I am writing I like it quiet and I like to be alone with no one in my office or what ever space I am in (other than Bella, our ragdoll cat that thinks she is a dog - and follows me everywhere).
If I am working in my shop, or the yard or garden I like to listen to music - or more often podcasts.

I like to listen to jazz at a low volume like background music. I can't concentrate in total silence. That's why I would never go to the library to study. It was the Troy H Middlton library. Named after a past LSU president who was a general in WWI and WWII.
They just changed the name because Middleton may or may not have said something in the 50's that is now percieved as racist by a small minority of snowflakes.

My little nest is usually cluttered with computer gizmo's and gadgets. I listen to music all of the time. Blues is my all time favorite genre, but there are times when I love to listen to hard rock from the mid to late 60's. Then there are the times when Metallica is blaring away, the louder the better. All depends on my mood I guess.

I have a fairly small house and 4 adults and 3 dogs reside in it. So may office is located in a corner of my bedroom. That's my space to work and listen to whatever I want. I just love all kinds of music, even as far back as stuff from the 30's and 40's! I guess rap and hip hop are two that I really can't handle listening to.
